Here's a new solution for the disillusionment and disappointment of relationships repeatedly gone bad. Those who have "tried everything" to make such relationships work will want to read this book. None of the usual changes -- losing weight, exercising, and even extensive (and expensive) therapy -- make any difference, because none of them serve to change the human aura, the vibrations from the electromagnetic energy field that surrounds everyone. A person's aura is like a psychic X ray that continuously projects the real person to the outside world. It doesn't lie, it can't be disguised, and it can attract the wrong people. Heal Your Aura combines the New Age concept of auras and energy fields with a guide to practical tasks and exercises that help readers alter the vibrations of their energy fields. When electromagnetic energy fields are healed, the aura is changed too, and this can transform the way one lives and can encourage finding -- and keeping -- true love. Heal Your Aura will help readers stop attracting liars and cheats and begin attracting solid, warm-hearted friends.

The aura is a combination of the natural energy your mind, body, and soul emit. This electromagnetic field normally extends between three to six feet from your body. If your aura is very strong it can extend an even greater distance. On the other hand, if you've been through a lot of trauma and negativity in your life, your aura can become very weak, small, and filled with holes or rips. It can even develop a hard outer shell that prevents anything from entering or exiting your aura field. You Can Change Your Energy Field Many people believe that once you're born with a certain type of aura energy or color you're stuck with it for life. Or, that we have no control over the type of energy we give off. Nothing could be further from the truth! By learning to clear and heal your energy field then changing your aura color you can give off the type of vibrations you want others to feel from you while attracting positive people and opportunities. You'll be able to advance on both the material and spiritual planes much more quickly than you have been.

Recent scholarship has shown that modern postural yoga is the outcome of a complex process of transcultural exchange and syncretism. This book doubles down on those claims and digs even deeper, looking to uncover the disparate but entangled roots of modern yoga practice. Anya Foxen shows that some of what we call yoga, especially in North America and Europe, is genealogically only slightly related to pre-modern Indian yoga traditions. Rather, it is equally, if not more so, grounded in Hellenistic theories of the subtle body, Western esotericism and magic, pre-modern European medicine, and late-nineteenth-century women's wellness programs. The book begins by examining concepts arising out of Greek philosophy and religion, including Pythagoreanism, Stoicism, Neo-Platonism, Galenic medicine, theurgy, and other cultural currents that have traditionally been categorized as "Western esotericism," as well as the more recent examples which scholars of American traditions have labeled "metaphysical religion." Marshaling these under the umbrella category of "harmonialism," Foxen argues that they represent a history of practices that were gradually subsumed into the language of yoga. Orientalism and gender become important categories of analysis as this narrative moves into the nineteenth century. Women considerably outnumber men in all studies of yoga except those conducted in India, and modern anglophone yoga exhibits important continuities with women's physical culture, feminist reform, and white women's engagement with Orientalism. Foxen's study allows us to recontextualize the peculiarities of American yoga--its focus on aesthetic representation, its privileging of bodily posture and unsystematic incorporation of breathwork, and above all its overwhelmingly white female demographic. In this context it addresses the ongoing conversation about cultural appropriation within the yoga community.
