She’s built a firewall around her heart. He’s determined to crack the code. Hailstorms come with the territory in Austin, Texas. Having a hot guy to shelter with is a less frequent phenomenon. It must be the shock – or the hailstorm to the temple – that makes cautious technology consultant Alicia ask Jackson out. Minutes later, still reeling from his kind rejection, she walks into the biggest meeting of her career. And it’s just her luck that *he’s* there - Jackson, the sexy charmer. But he’s no longer charming; he’s madder than a rattlesnake that Alicia’s there to take over his project. But it’s Alicia’s job to turn around the project, even if Jackson thwarts her every move. Even if their late nights in the office are more about chemistry than code. Even when she teaches him to two-step and he kisses her under the stars. If anyone finds out Alicia and Jackson are more than colleagues, it’ll threaten not only the project but both their careers. He’s a genius. She’s the boss. Can they work together – without falling in love? Fall for these two rival programmers in this steamy, slow-burn, laugh-out-loud enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy featuring a straitlaced single mom, a tech genius who hides a secret under a playboy exterior, and way too much tequila. Set in up-and-coming Austin, it’s the first book in the Synergy Workplace Romance series and can be read as a standalone.

It is tough to succeed in these days whether it’s the business of life of the business of business. It can be especially tough for outliers. Here is the personal code for success for one outlier. Of course, it all depends on how one defines success. If success means happiness at home and in the workplace, this is the code for you. In this book we will explore nine principles to live and work by from an outlier perspective. This is not saying these principles and this personal code are the only way. They are just one way. The hope is that you will find your own way and embrace your own outlierness and uniqueness. The principles are: Know Thyself, Develop Courage, Develop Mastery, Grow Your Pennies, Be Tenacious, Have Faith, Lead the Way, Challenge the System, and Save the World. Along with these principles, the author will share a little of her story and stories from clients who came to her for career coaching. I have changed the names of clients to protect their confidentiality. Perhaps you wonder. What is an outlier? There is no one perfect definition. It means you may think different than others or feel left out or you don’t relate to the status quo, or the status quo makes no sense. It may mean that whenever you follow whatever rules are set for you that those same rules don’t seem to work for you. Consider rethinking the rules.

DigiCat presents to you this meticulously edited George Müller collection. "The word of God alone is our standard of judgment in spiritual things... the Holy Spirit alone can teach us about our state by nature, show us the need of a Saviour, enable us to believe in Christ, explain to us the Scriptures, help us in preaching, etc. The first evening that I shut myself into my room, to give myself to prayer and meditation over the Scriptures, I learned more in a few hours than I had done during a period of several months previously. But the particular difference was, that I received real strength for my soul in doing so." George Müller (1805-1898) was a Christian evangelist and the director of the Ashley Down orphanage in Bristol, England. He cared for 10,024 orphans during his lifetime, and provided educational opportunities for the orphans to the point that he was even accused by some of raising the poor above their natural station in British life. He established 117 schools which offered Christian education to more than 120,000. The theology that guided George Müller's work was shaped by an experience in his middle twenties when he "came to prize the Bible alone as his standard of judgement". Müller wrote frequently about the stewardship of money and the non-reliance on earthly riches, and how God would bless the man who kept to these principles, and felt that laying his own experiences bare would prove the truth of his claims. His personal income, from unsolicited gifts (he refused any kind of salary) rose from £151 in 1831 to more than £2,000 in 1870. However, he retained only around £300 a year for himself and his family, the rest he gave away. Müller's faith in God strengthened day by day and he spent hours in daily prayer and Bible reading. From All Anybody Ever Wanted of Me Was to Work... "Starting around 1950, people stopped raising chickens, milking cows, and raising hogs. They just buy it at the store, ready to eat. A lot buy a steer and have it processed in Dongola and put it in their freezer. What a difference! Girls have got it so easy now. They don't even know what it was like to start out. And I guess my mother's life, when she started out, was as hard again as mine, because they had to make everything by hand. I don't know if it could get any easier for these girls. But they don't know what it was like, and they never will. Everything is packaged. All you do is go to the store and buy you a package and cook it. Automatic washers and dryers. I'm glad they don't have to work like I did. Very glad." Edith Bradley Rendleman's story of her life in southern Illinois is remarkable in many ways. Recalling the first half of the twentieth century in great detail, she vividly cites vignettes from her childhood as her family moved from farm to farm until settling in 1909 in the Mississippi bottoms of Wolf Lake. She recounts the lives and times of her family and neighbors during an era gone forever. Remarkable for the vivid details that evoke the past, Rendleman's account is rare in another respect: memoirs of the time--usually written by people from elite or urban families--often reek of nostalgia. But Rendleman's memoir differs from the norm. Born poor in rural southern Illinois, she tells an unvarnished tale of what it was really like growing up on a tenant farm early this century.

This book depicts a true life story. All of the characters are real, but for anonymity purposes, I have changed the names of all the characters. Although this may be the case, I am grateful for the roles that they played in my life, and I acknowledge every contribution that they've made, in whatever capacity. They know who they are.
