His journey from initially starting out as an honor student, a promising athlete and musician, to falling into a world of drug use, to dropping out of high school and losing his Father to suicide, to making his way back to sobriety and redemption again - all while losing his Mother to Cancer following a 6 year battle with the disease - has garnered global attention through his bold, raw and vulnerable approach to writing.
