Letters and Social Aims, published in 1875, contains essays originally published early in the 1840s as well as those that were the product of a collaborative effort among Emerson, his daughter Ellen Tucker Emerson, his son Edward Waldo Emerson, and his literary executor James Eliot Cabot. The volume takes up the topics of Poetry and Imagination, Social Aims, Eloquence, Resources, The Comic, Quotation and Originality, Progress of Culture, Persian Poetry, Inspiration, Greatness, and, appropriately for Emerson's last published book, Immortality. The historical introduction demonstrates for the first time the decline in Emerson's creative powers after 1865; the strain caused by the preparation of a poetry anthology and delivery of lectures at Harvard during this time; the devastating effect of a house fire in 1872; and how the Emerson children and Cabot worked together to enable Emerson to complete the book. The textual introduction traces this collaborative process in detail and also provides new information about the genesis of the volume as a response to a proposed unauthorized British edition of Emerson's works. The eight journey of nine in the And There I Was series-Ethiopia, cradle of all mankind-took place in 2004. Come along and recount the incredible history of a country older than time itself-a country of orphaned children steeped in Christianity. Trek the Simiens, a geological creation that surpasses even the imagination of God, where the lion-like baboon presides. Travel to an island monastery on Lake Tana where the Arc of the Covenant once resided and hold council with a priest who has spent his entire life studying the origins and meaning of Christianity-a man perhaps more knowledgeable than any other who serves as custodian of an underground vault of parchment texts predating Christ. Witness local women performing the world's most seductive dance, the Iskista, and see incredible churches hewn out of the earth's bedrock in Lalibela, the Jerusalem of Africa. Meet the children of Ethiopia and have them guide you by the hand to the headwaters of the Nile. Share sugar cane and song with the raincloud Dorze people and roam the shores and waters of Lake Chomo amongst the largest crocodiles in the world. Chew "qat," sample "tej" or honey wine, the nectar of the Gods and gorge on "injera" made from the national grain, "teff."

It has been decades since many business schools outside India adopted the case study methodology for teaching almost all branches of management studies. This trend has been seen in India, too, where top management institutes have implemented the case study-based methodology as an importantpedagogical tool in business education. The major issue in India, however, is a severe shortage of Indian case studies through which business schools can provide industry insights to students. This volume fills that gap. It has twenty Indian cases related to different aspects of business management. The cases cover some of the prominent disciplines of management like marketing, finance, human resource management, strategy management, operations management, accounting, and mergers and acquisitions. These cases best serve the purpose of adoption of 'case methodology' in classroom teaching oronline lecture sessions for the faculty and students of business management.

In The Learned Banqueters, Athenaeus describes a series of dinner parties at which the guests quote extensively from Greek literature. The work (which dates to the very end of the second century CE) is amusing reading and of extraordinary value as a treasury of quotations from works now lost. Athenaeus also preserves a wide range of information about different cuisines and foodstuffs, the music and entertainments that ornamented banquets, and the intellectual talk that was the heart of Greek conviviality. S. Douglas Olson has undertaken to produce a complete new edition of the work, replacing the previous Loeb Athenaeus (published under the title Deipnosophists).

This book will be the 8th volume of Contemporary Issues in Mediation (CIIM), a thought-leadership publication which compiles the top submissions from an annual mediation essay competition organised by the Singapore International Mediation Institute. This book is edited by Singapore's leading experts on mediation and negotiation, Professor Joel Lee and Marcus Lim. CIIM is a unique and valuable addition to the growing body of mediation and dispute resolution literature.CIIM is the only publication on the market which seeks to explore current theories and applications of mediation concepts and practices in detail. Presently, most publications adopt a descriptive approach when outlining the uses of mediation. CIIM introduces an evaluative component into literature on this niche subject matter and pushes the boundaries of mediation thoughts and theory. Further, readers stand to benefit from a diverse range of topics selected for their high quality of research and novelty. All this will support the development of mediation as a profession undergirded by certain professional standards and practices. With the coming into force of the Singapore Convention on Mediation in 2020, mediation is taking a permanent place in the dispute resolution landscape. The success of the past 7 volumes of CIIM is a testament to the growing interest in the wide variety of issues that arise in this specialised field.
