Visions of a Painter & Thoughts of a Poet Coffee Table Book is a dynamic fusion of the Arts, visual and poetry. It's a collaboration of selective paintings by artist and creator of "Leather Sculpture on Canvas", Jackson Georges Sr., who uses all types of mediums, such as wood, plexiglass, leather, metal, marble, stone, burlap, twine, acrylic and oil on canvas; and poetry by Diana F. Fuller. Diana Fuller creatively depicts his amazing works of art expressively creating a poem for 20 paintings through the four basic steps of art analysis (analyzing, describing, interpreting and evaluating), research of Haitian culture and symbols as well as conversations with Jackson Georges about his inspiration behind each piece. The poems had a flow like mind-reading of the artist (painter).

H.D’s writing continues to inspire generations of readers. Bringing together a number of never-before-published essays, this new collection of H.D.’s writings introduces her compelling perspectives on art, myth, and the creative process. While H.D. is best known for her elemental poetry, which draws heavily on the imagery of natural and ancient worlds, her critical writings remain a largely underexplored and unpublished part of her oeuvre. Crucial to understanding both the formative contexts surrounding her departure from Imagism following the First World War and her own remarkable creative vision, Notes on Thought and Vision, written in 1918, is one of the central works in this collection. H.D. guides her reader to the untamed shores of the Scilly Isles, where we hear of powerful, transformative experiences and of her intense relationship with the paintings of Leonardo da Vinci. The accompanying essays, many published here for the first time, help color H.D.’s astute critical engagement with the past, from the city of Athens and the poetry of ancient Greece. Like Letters to a Young Painter (2017), also published in the ekphrasis series, this collection is essential reading for anyone interested in the creative process.

In 1809 the little-known artist William Blake held an exhibition of 16 paintings in a private house in Soho in the west end of London. Works inspired by Chaucer's "Canterbury Tales" and John Milton's "Paradise Lost" sat alongside biblical scenes and Arthurian legend. The exhibition was not a success; the only review in the press was extremely unfavourable and few of the public came. One of those who did was the poet Charles Lamb, who later described the pictures as 'hard, dry, yet with grace', and the catalogue that accompanied the show as 'mystical and full of vision'. It is this catalogue that Tate Publishing are once again making available. In it, the scale and range of Blake's ambition are made plain, along with his theories on painting, his unsparing critiques of other artists and some extraordinary insights into the working of his mind. The only detailed writing on art that remains to us by Blake, it throws light on all his subsequent artistic enterprises, including the illuminated books for which he is perhaps most famous. Part commentary and part manifesto, his catalogue is as radical as it is in places eccentric (he claims at one point to have been transported in a "vision" back to the classical world). Fully illustrated in colour with reproductions of surviving works originally in the exhibition, the book includes an illuminating essay by leading authority on British art Martin Myrone, Lead Curator of Pre-1800 Art at Tate Britain, making it an essential purchase for all of those wanting to know more.

For painter and poet Paul Weingarten, all art is the direct result of sentiment and sensation. The most powerful sensation is that of pain, which forces us to seek solace in whatever way we know how. Whether it is melancholy, anxiety, anger, or emptiness, the emotions derived from pain spur the artist to communicate. Visions and Voices is a mixture of visual art and words, created by a man whose paintings have been recognized nationally in galleries and private collections. Although pain is most powerful, it is most often tempered by sensuality and humor, as illuminated in Weingartens work, written in the beautiful, flowing tradition of the Romantic poets. Paul Weingartens brilliantly colored Expressionist portraits and landscapes subtly reference Modernist masters; yet the work retains a distinct identity that is strong enough to hold its own in dialogue with tradition.Joyce B. Korotkin, The New York Art World.

"There is no doubt Margaret Biggs' newest work "Visions" will touch many. I am sure her book is the answer to many prayers out there as she has documented well her unique journey towards wholeness, which is very important for all who are in need of the inner peace found by loving themselves, embracing their gifts and honoring their heart. This book is beautiful " --Michael Brant DeMaria, Ph. D., Psychologist, Author, Speaker and Four-Time Grammy Nominated Recording Artist "There is beauty in your words that tells the reader that your faith has been an important part of dealing with the pain in your ongoing road to healing - which is not really a destination as much as a lifelong journey. While one person very close to me has leaned on their faith in God during their journey, another special friend is still trying to discover exactly who God is and how His grace can heal her broken heart and spirit. Your journey, described through your poetry, is going to be so soothing and encouraging to her. I genuinely feel she will find peace in your words." --Terri McCollum, Destin, FL

In Myself Painting Clarence Major seeks to re-create for readers the inexpressible feeling that comes from creating art, with poems that speak not of painting itself but of its underlying process. Major incorporates the techniques of painting—particularly that of Post-Expressionism—into his verse, describing scenery with an artist’s eye and using form and color to evoke striking images: “Desire, artichoke green . . . leaves all radiant, / creating the thickness of blue shadows.” A master of highly structured free verse, Major also paints sounds, enthralling the reader in a realm of private symbols and dream visions. Using dynamic, surreal images, this original collection invites readers into the poet’s own fascinating world.
