Named as a 2020 Book of the Year by The Times Literary Supplement Survival Is a Style, Christian Wiman’s first collection of new poems in six years, may be his best book yet. His many readers will recognize the musical and formal variety, the voice that can be tender and funny, credibly mystical and savagely skeptical. But there are many new notes in this collection as well, including a moving elegy to the poet’s father, sharp observations and distillations of modern American life, and rangy poems that merge and juxtapose different modes of speech and thought. The cumulative effect is extraordinary. Reading Survival Is a Style, one has the sense one is encountering work that will become a permanent part of American literature.

Library of Small Catastrophes, Alison Rollins’ ambitious debut collection, interrogates the body and nation as storehouses of countless tragedies. Drawing from Jorge Luis Borges’ fascination with the library, Rollins uses the concept of the archive to offer a lyric history of the ways in which we process loss. “Memory is about the future, not the past,” she writes, and rather than shying away from the anger, anxiety, and mourning of her narrators, Rollins’ poetry seeks to challenge the status quo, engaging in a diverse, boundary-defying dialogue with an ever-present reminder of the ways race, sexuality, spirituality, violence, and American culture collide.

A “brilliant” biography of the Brontë family, dispelling popular myths and revealing the true story of Emily, Anne, Charlotte, and their father (The Independent on Sunday). The tragic story of the Brontë family has been told many times: the half-mad, repressive father; the drunken, drug-addicted brother; wildly romantic Emily; unrequited Anne; and “poor Charlotte.” But is any of it true? These caricatures of the popular imagination were created by amateur biographers like Elizabeth Gaskell who were more interested in lurid tales than genuine scholarship. Juliet Barker’s landmark book is the first definitive history of the Brontës. It demolishes the myths, yet provides startling new information that is just as compelling—but true. Based on firsthand research among all the Brontë manuscripts and among contemporary historical documents never before used by Brontë biographers, this book is both scholarly and compulsively readable. The Brontës is a revolutionary picture of the world’s favorite literary family.

Introduction Today's modern society has a very close similarity with that of ancient times and I suspect throughout the ages. In our often busy and exhausting schedules we often find no time if any to acknowledge, pray and converse with our Lord Jesus Christ. Eventually we find ourselves tired, beaten down, fed up and going in directions we just did not plan to go. Ending up in what seems a solitary place; it's time to find a quiet, unobserved place, get on our knees and with our whole heart pray. Asking to hold the Lords hand and let Him lead the way. To take up our bible and learn about Him from the beginning. He has a gift of peace to give us, if only we give Him priority time in our day. Author's Letter To The Reader. Dear Reader, Thank you for purchasing this book. I am not a person who is confident in talking about any matters in life, other than those in which I have some training. I am still a baby in the palm of Gods hand as I look to make my life throughout my day ever pleasing to Him. If you purchased my first two poem books and perhaps found one or two poems that you liked. Perhaps you are ever closer to kneeling quietly and handing control of your life over to Jesus. Perhaps through reading these poem books you have given God the first thanks and thoughts of your day in prayer. Perhaps you are caring for someone who likes a poem but cannot read that well due to their length of years. May I suggest the poem in book two entitled, 'If one Day, Bed Bound, eyes weak'. You will find a couple of joint poems in this book, one of which was done with a meticulous nurse whilst returning her back to her hospital, after a job. Another was with a lovely little old lady, who was quite scary at first, but turned out to be a real beauty. Oh I almost forgot, there is a talking tortoise in this book as well, so don't be shocked when you read about the lesson he gave me a long time ago. No, honestly! I met him in Mauritius, my dad gave me a little bit of rum and I went for a walk. Not really, that would be silly - I don't drink. As you read through the pages of this my third poem book. Don't rush through it. I can only pray that somewhere, someone may find a poem within these pages that touches their heart. I can only hope that somewhere, someone finds a psalm quote within these pages that draws them closer to God. It is for these two reasons I have put this book together. Though the thanks and praise are for the Lord. May the Lord bless you and keep you. Henry
