The great world traveler and writer Trevor Summons has decided to settle down in Southern California and conduct all his subsequent literary expeditions here. Summons is now the region's tour guide of choice. He leads readers not only on visits to the well-known attractions, but also on journeys of discovery to hidden locations that are even more fascinating. This collection of some of his best articles must be considered the new travel bible that belongs in the car, motorcycle, backpack, suitcase and bookshelf of anyone who wishes to explore the Golden State's glittery half. John Weeks, Features Editor L.A.N.G. (Retd!) Trevors Travels (in Southern California) is the result of 15 years of a weekly column published each Sunday in the San Bernardino Sun and other newspapers in the Los Angeles Newspaper Group (L.A.N.G.) Each piece is an account of a location recommended for a day visit. S. California has a great deal to offer both resident and visitor. From museums and art galleries to the many beautiful outdoor locations, the area has it all and you dont have to worry too much about the weather! The 150 places herein range from the eerily named but interesting Museum of Death to the awe-inspiring Getty, and from the Living Desert in Palm Springs to the relaxing beach of Marina Del Rey.

TREVOR HARDING, pursues his Ms. In archeology at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and falls in love with Rachel Rosenberg, his arch professors daughter. She gives him short shrift when he tries to get acquainted. She emits the same angst against Gentiles as Professor Rosenberg. Trevors hopelessness becomes hopeful when Rachel is hospitalized; the result of a suicide bomber. Trevor visits Rachel in the hospital. She is traumatized, refuses to eat, and harbors a death wish. With much cajoling and shaming, he gets her eating and wanting to live again. Love enters between spoons of food and knitting of bones. The professor, finding the pair laughing and kibitzing, takes umbrage at their conviviality. He removes his daughter from the hospital against medical advice...eliminating the Goyim factor. Trevor is sent to Egypt to help a sister dig. Rachel, recovered, visits friends of Trevors; David and Ida Sherman, Messianic Jews. When Trevor returns he finds Rachel has become a believer in Jesus, the Messiah. High hopes. They are spiritually on the same wave length. Plans for marriage surface. Fate has other plans. Rachel is killed as a bomb strikes the plant where she works. Trevor is distraught. Life loses meaning; God is unjust. Fears and distrust stalk him. Another beauty from the States enters camp. But... she s spoken for. Has Cupid taken umbrage against our hero age 29? Au contraire. A guardian angel nudges Cupid out of the way and everything in Trevors garden comes up lovely.

You've heard it before: A healthful diet rich in plant-based foods can prolong your life. But how much could you really extend your time? The Adventist enclave in Loma Linda, California, is America's only "Blue Zone" one of five regions on Earth where people live measurably longer—about 10 years more— than average, as identified by National Geographic–funded research. This Blue Zone status is thanks largely to the foods Loma Linda residents and Adventists choose eat—and the foods they choose not to eat. Loma Linda was established in 1905 by the Adventist founder and prophet Ellen G. White. Her great-great-grandson, John Howard Weeks, still lives there. He knows firsthand what it's like to fall into the rut of unhealthy habits—and to relearn how to live and eat in a healthy way. Through the teachings of his family, Weeks was able to conquer his temptations and embrace a healthy way of living. He'll show you how to do the same, no matter what your personal battle looks like. In The Healthiest People on Earth, Weeks shares the secrets of how anyone, anywhere, can create a "Blue Zone" of their own and live a longer, healthier life. A lively read full of exclusive family stories, gainful tips and tricks, happy home remedies, and plant-based recipes, this book will be your first step on the journey to a longer, healthier, more fulfilling life. This is not a book about religion—it is about health and happiness. It is possible to be healthy in body, mind, and spirit. Start by eating like the healthiest people on Earth.

This is a story about a guy who was born in a small town in the UK and grew up in a tiny sleepy village in farming countryside. Through a series of coincidences, lots of luck, lots of hard work and I would like to think a set of skills honed over the years, I worked and lived in ten countries across the world, and visited almost fifty in total. But I put it down mostly to lots of very hard work. I subscribe to the adage that your future is what you make it. It is a story of adventures, challenges, opportunities, and romances of a world traveler in the IT industry. I've included a few glimpses into corporate politics in major multinational companies. One of my favorite quotes from back then, from my boss at the time: "I deal with pricks every day I come in here, but it's the assholes I can't stand." I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

The first significant publication devoted entirely to Trevor Jones’s work, The Screen Music of Trevor Jones: Technology, Process, Production, investigates the key phases of his career within the context of developments in the British and global screen-music industries. This book draws on the direct testimony of the composer and members of his team as well as making use of the full range of archival materials held in the University of Leeds’s unique Trevor Jones Archive, which was digitized with support from the Arts and Humanities Research Council. Through a comprehensive series of chapters covering Jones’s early career to his recent projects, this book demonstrates how Jones has been active in an industry that has experienced a prolonged period of major technological change, including the switchover from analogue to digital production and post-production techniques, and developments in computer software for score production and sound recording/editing. This is a valuable study for scholars, researchers and professionals in the areas of film music, film-score production and audio-visual media.
