Excerpt from Thirty-First Annual Report of the Receipts and Expenditures of the City of Laconia, New Hampshire, for the Year Ending February 15, 1924: Together With Other Annual Reports and Papers Relating to the Affairs of the City At ten o'clock in the forenoon of the above date, members-elect of the city council for the municipal year of 1923 and the members from the previous council met for organization at the city council room agreeably to the provisions of the city charter. The oath of office was administered to the Mayor-elect, Hon. Charles H. Perkins by the City Solicitor, Theo S. Jewett, Esq. And the City Solicitor administered the oath of office to the following councilmen-elect, viz: Ward 1 - Frank A. Barlow Ward 2 - William D. Kempton Ward 3 - George E. Stevens Ward 4 - Andrew J. Brodhead Ward 5 - Walter L. Huse Ward 6 - Earle D. Seaverns Prayer was then offered by the Rev. Charles J. Jones, after which the mayor delivered his inaugural address.
