Thesis (M.A.) from the year 2017 in the subject Computer Science - General, grade: MA, , language: English, abstract: The purpose of the work is to analyze the key factors of the successful implementation of ERP-systems within the framework of the problem of interaction between management, employees of the company, and the external environment. In the course of the research, the following were conducted: analysis of the ERP system market, identification of the main trends, problems and prospects; highlighting the main advantages and disadvantages of implementing ERP-system in the enterprise; analysis of approaches to assessing the cost-effectiveness of implementing the ERP-system; generalization of ERP system implementation experience at specific enterprises, evaluation of implementation efficiency; development of recommendations for replicating the ERP-system in accordance with the analysis. As a result of the research, it was found that the implementation of ERP-systems is an expensive and resource-intensive process that distracts the management and production personnel of the company from the main activity for a long time. In this connection, studies of mechanisms for reducing these costs and overcoming resistance to change are relevant. The typification of the implementation of ERP-systems is expected to reduce the negative factors.

Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) refers to large commercial software packages that promise a seamless integration of information flow through an organization by combining various sources of information into a single software application and a single database. The outcome of ERP itself is still a mystery, but the trends and issues it has created will be the enigma that future generations will have to solve. Traditionally, separate units were created within an organization to carry out various tasks, and these functional areas would create their own information systems thereby giving rise to systems that were not integrated. ERP strives to provide a solution to these problems. Enterprise Resource Planning Solutions and Management examines the issues that need to be further studied and better understood to ensure successful implementation and deployment of ERP systems.

Research Paper (postgraduate) from the year 2014 in the subject Business economics - Supply, Production, Logistics, , language: English, abstract: However challenging it may be in carrying out this research, its findings are expected to give a contribution towards role-based ERP system implementation practice. This study’s findings are expected to be significant to various interested parties, for example vendors may understand price- and design-based problems facing target customers and simplify applications to assist companies to implement role-based ERP systems with ease. On the other hand, people or companies implementing role-based ERP systems can also realize the internal and extraneous needs and get prepared effectively. The trouble in implementing role-based ERP systems in industrialized nations may be worsened by the assertion that role-based ERP embodies proved ways of doing business thus requiring companies adopting role-based ERP systems to adjust their corporate processes to comply with business practices constitutional in role-based ERP packages. Venders contend that the implementation of such best practices lowers the cost of configuring the software and results in improving the company’s processes. Therefore, Gosain, S. (2004) says that companies and their stakeholders many times strain to implement such practices.

This book constitutes the proceedings of the 4th EuroSymposium on Systems Analysis and Design, SIGSAND/PLAIS 2011, held in Gdańsk, Poland, in September 2011. The objective of this symposium is to promote and develop high-quality research on all issues related to systems analysis and design (SAND). It provides a forum for SAND researchers and practitioners in Europe and beyond to interact, collaborate, and develop their field. The 9 papers were carefully reviewed and selected from 20 submissions. An additional revision took place after the conference to incorporate discussion results from the presentation. The contributions are organized into topical sections on business process modeling, integrated systems development, and software development.

Local functional systems that create inefficient islands of information are being replaced by expensive enterprise-wide applications that unify the functional areas; however, while we have not yet been able to completely and seamlessly integrate across functions, we find that the new islands of information are no longer functional but political, cultural, linguistic, and geographical. The global village is a reality and enterprise resource planning (ERP) implementations face new issues and challenges. Enterprise Resource Planning for Global Economies: Managerial Issues and Challenges provides authoritative research on the theoretical frameworks and pragmatic discussions on global implementations of information systems, particularly ERP systems. This book offers professionals, managers, and researchers, who want to improve their understanding of the issues and challenges that arise when information systems cross national boundaries, with an authoritative, essential research resource.

The high failure rate of enterprise resource planning (ERP) projects is a pressing concern for both academic researchers and industrial practitioners. The challenges of an ERP implementation are particularly high when the project involves designing and developing a system from scratch. Organizations often turn to vendors and consultants for handling such projects but, every aspect of an ERP project is opaque for both customers and vendors. Unlocking the mysteries of building a large-scale ERP system, The Adventurous and Practical Journey to a Large-Scale Enterprise Solution tells the story of implementing an applied enterprise solution. The book covers the field of enterprise resource planning by examining state-of-the-art concepts in software project management methodology, design and development integration policy, and deployment framework, including: A hybrid project management methodology using waterfall as well as a customized Scrum-based approach A novel multi-tiered software architecture featuring an enhanced flowable process engine A unique platform for coding business processes efficiently Integration to embed ERP modules in physical devices A heuristic-based framework to successfully step into the Go-live period Written to help ERP project professionals, the book charts the path that they should travel from project ideation to systems implementation. It presents a detailed, real-life case study of implementing a large-scale ERP and uses storytelling to demonstrate incorrect and correct decisions frequently made by vendors and customers. Filled with practical lessons learned, the book explains the ins and outs of adopting project methodologies. It weaves a tale that features both real-world and scholarly aspects of an ERP implementation.
