L. Leach in 1883, and published by Mr. Thomas T. Bates, pro prietor of the Grand Traverse Herald. This was followed, in 1884, by the publication of 'the Grand Traverse Region, Historical and Descriptive, by H. R. Page Company, of Chicago.
