In this fully revised and updated second edition of his accessible account of systematic Christology, Gerald O'Collins continues to challenge the contemporary publishing trend for sensationalist books on Jesus that are supported neither by the New Testament witness nor by mainline Christian beliefs. This book critically examines the best biblical and historical scholarship before tackling head-on some of the key questions of systematic Christology: does orthodox faith present Jesus the man as deficient and depersonalized? Is his sinlessness compatible with the exercise of a free human will? Does up-to-date exegesis challenge his virginal conception and personal resurrection? Can one reconcile Jesus' role as universal Saviour with the truth and values to be found in other religions? What should the feminist movement highlight in presenting Jesus? This integral Christology is built around the resurrection of the crucified Jesus, highlights love as the key to redemption, and proposes a synthesis of the divine presence through Jesus. Clear, balanced, and accessible, this book should be valued by any student reading systematic theology, anyone training for the ministry in all denominations, as well as interested general readers.

Most published books about Jesus detail His roles as a prophet, priest, and king. He fulfilled these roles when He sacrificed Himself and entered the presence of God the Father. The world has been so morally and spiritually bankrupt and dead that the need for a Savior cannot be emphasized enough. Thanks be to God that He gave us Jesus Christ! As King over all the earth, he will have judicial powers and responsibilities over the subjects in the forthcoming Millennial Kingdom. He will judge all nations of the world for their beliefs and ways of life during the Great Tribulation. He will sentence the condemned to everlasting punishment and welcome his sheep to His kingdom. Therefore, it becomes pertinent that we make this book prominent. The role of Jesus Christ is not only as savior and king but also as judge.

In the venerable history of the Black Dagger Brotherhood, only one male has ever been expelled—but Murhder’s insanity gave the Brothers no choice. Haunted by visions of a female he could not save, he nonetheless returns to Caldwell on a mission to right the wrong that ruined him. However, he is not prepared for what he must face in his quest for redemption. Dr. Sarah Watkins, researcher at a biomedical firm, is struggling with the loss of her fellow scientist fiancé. When the FBI starts asking about his death, she questions what really happened and soon learns the terrible truth: Her firm is conducting inhumane experiments in secret and the man she thought she knew and loved was involved in the torture. As Murhder and Sarah’s destinies become irrevocably entwined, desire ignites between them. But can they forge a future that spans the divide separating the two species? And as a new foe emerges in the war against the vampires, will Murhder return to his Brothers... or resume his lonely existence forevermore?

The eternal Son of God became man for our salvation; but what kind of human nature did he assume? The answer of this book is that he took human nature as it was because of the fall. Despite this, he lived a perfect, sinless life, and finally redeemed this "fallen nature" through his cross; this victory is the basis of atonement. The New Testament supports this christological position, and there are several indications that suggest it gives a deeper interpretation to some sections of the gospel narrative. It is clearly taught by Paul, and is the obvious implication of certain aspects of the Christology of Hebrews. During the centuries, but mainly in the post-Reformation period, a number of theologians have expounded this theory, and in the present century there have been distinct signs that it is becoming more acceptable to theological thought. The various advocates of the theory are not unrelated, for certain principles of unity hold them together. The number of advocates through the years, however, has been few. One reason for this is that the term "fallen human nature" has often been misunderstood. Additionally, throughout the history of Christology, there has been a serious tendency to neglect the humanity of Christ, and this has gone decisively against the general acceptance of the doctrine that Christ assumed "fallen human nature." If the theory is accepted, it helps to give a more adequate view of the work of Christ. There are five main theories of the atonement; all these are strengthened, and many of their weaknesses are eliminated, if this christological theory is accepted. Here is a book that contains new thinking on a great theme. It is clear, logical, and rewarding to both mind and heart.
