We now have reached the fourth and last division, in which we shall inquire into the vari ous modes of acquiring title to real property. Under this division of the subject, the first great classification, usually made, and which will be adhered to in this work, is into (1) Title by descent and (2) Title by purchase, which will constitute the two parts of this grand division.
