Lynette shares her story to bring healing to others who may be suffering with broken spirits.I've sat for four years in the back of my church in a state of darkness; now understand what I mean. Not in darkness of sin, for I never lost my spiritual integrity, but I found myself in a dark place caused by a broken spirit. A place where that no matter what I did, I just could not seem to crawl out of. For the first time in my life I felt lost. Now, I understand that I am not the first woman to have suffered a broken heart nor will I be the last. However, the demise of my marriage after thirteen years destroyed the foundation of everything that I loved and believed in. My faith in God and my marriage were the two things that I trusted the most in and would lose my life for; but in a matter of minutes that foundation was destroyed.As I began to look around at the Church world, I began to understand that I was not the only one that was in a dark place or that was feeling all alone. But, what was this dark place? How could I be around people I knew and yet still feel lost and all alone? Often time I would seek prayer for deliverance and I would cry out to God. I would wonder how long I would have to feel this pain of emptiness. Where was God? Why won't God hear me? How could I be in the presence of such powerful men and women of God and yet still feel so broken? Often someone would minister to me about how God was going to restore all that I've lost, but that would never free my spirit. I wanted to hear how God was still with me; that God was still going to use me in ministry. I wanted to hear how there was light at the end of the tunnel and that my faith would be restored. Then finally, one day during my Church's Twenty-one Day Consecration fast God spoke to me and said, "The reason why you can't find the deliverance you are looking for is because your spirit has been broken". Wow, those words pierced my spirit like nothing had ever done before and for the first time in four years I now understood and knew what to pray for. Therefore, during the remainder of the Consecration, I only prayed for one thing 'Lord Please Heal My Broken Spirit'
