Excerpt from The Forester, 1913, Vol. 16 A Junior Class again makes the effort, in this volume, to set down in permanent form the life of a college year. As we finish the book adding this last to the Foresters that have preceeded it, we realize one thing more clearly, that the. Mere recounting of facts and the sight of faces on the page do not give us campus life or college spirit as it really is; this means for each one of us a different thing, differing as widely as the phases of student ac'tivity upon which each puts the emphasis of his effort and-his attainment. Therefore, complete and fair as we have sought to be, perhaps no department of this Annual will have received the space and attention those particularly interested in it would like to see. Perhaps that it should please all, do justice to all sides of our life here, Would be to expect too much of this little book, that has felt so many times during its growth the stern repressing hand of the printers' bills. Think of it rather in this wise, good master reader, that it is to the college the history of an added year, that to the alumni it is the inspiration for reminiscing on years that lie within their own college times, dearer, because they are their own, than ours can be, and that finally it is to the undergraduates themselves only the tangible, frame-work of names and faces and college deeds around which each shall build the true Forester, - his own fuller, more personal and more vivid memory of this year of his college course. Excerpt from The Forester, 1910, Vol. 13 Lake Forest College and its preparatory schools stand for a thorough educational development toward a well rounded Christian manhood and womanhood. The main object is not to produce culture or erudition, but rather men and women who can and will be of the highest service to the state. If the college can inculcate in each student as the ideal of life's work the spirit of unselfish devotion to the cause of pro meting a better citizenship, a more loyal patriotism, and a more practical and every day Christianity, it will have fulfilled its mission. Excerpt from The Forester, 1988, Vol. 89 We met weekly throughout the year to discuss perti nent issues and plan events. During the first semester we had two Fireside Forums: Alternatives to Abusive Behavior and Views From the Front: Women in the Work Force. During the second semester we had an event in February that corresponded to the theme of Black History Month and International Week well. Also, in March (women's History Week), we had our annual gala presentation of staged readings. W. I. T. Would like to thank many of its members who are graduating this year for creating and nurturing this much needed organization. We would also like to remind everybody who believes in the social, economic and political equality of the sexes that they are feminists. Peace.
