He was in the service of the Dutch West India Co., and in 1640 was stationed at Fort Hope, near the present site of the city of Hartford, Conn...On September 9, 1646, he was married to Hendrickje Simmons, a young woman from Noordthorn...He was appointed Fire Warden in 1674 and admitted as freeman of the City of the City of New York in 1698...Probably he died in 1702..."--P.
