The account referred to was then offered in evidence without objection. The judge Advocate stated that he was about to present for examination a witness whose testimony would be of such a nature, that it was deemed important to prevent its publicity at the present time; and he therefore suggested that the Court direct the enforcement of the sixth rule adopted for the government of its proceedings during the taking of such testimony: which suggestion was acquiesced in by the Court; and the court-room was cleared of all persons, except the members of the Commission, the Judge Advocate and his assistants, the accused, their counsel and necessary guards, and the official reporters of the Court.
