The Latrobe Valley Transition Committee's (LVTC) Report to Governments June 2012, provides advice to the Commonwealth and Victorian Governments on the necessary actions and investments needed to support the Latrobe Valley to respond to challenges facing the economy and labour market and achieve growth and diversification of the regional economy. For the purpose of this report, the Latrobe Valley has been defined as the Local Government Areas of Latrobe City Council, Wellington Shire, and Baw Baw Shire. The introduction of a national carbon price will drive substantial change in the Latrobe Valley's economy over the next decade and beyond. These changes will have widespread impacts on the region's power generators, which in turn will have flow effects on businesses, communities and families across the region.
