I have carefully watched the progress Of improve ment in agriculture, in order to derive benefit from any system of cultivation, new and useful, which might be proposed. Although many improvements in the business of husbandry have been suggested, which would no doubt be of advantage to the farm ing interest, were they reduced to practice, yeti shall speak of but one, which I consider the most prominent, and that deserving the greatest atten tion; and which, if generally introduced, would save to the farmers of this state, annually, many millions.
