Photographing God is not a how-to book about photographic technique. It is a "what-to" and "why-to" photography study guide to accompany the only true reference book, the Bible for, "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness." (2 Timothy 3:16 New International Version) Written for those who want to work as a visual journalist or for those already working that want a bit of direction and inspiration, each chapter contains topical discussions backed up with Bible verses and photographs. Chapter 1, Visual Storytelling, discusses the importance of truth and believability in journalism and the dangers of altering images. "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15)Chapter 2, Finding your Focus, deals with the why-to's of visual journalism and examines the subjects of recognizing and using your "photography gifts", inspiration and motivation as well as self promotion and exploitation.
