He who has access to that sort of company, which wears the reputation of intelligence, and does not recollect to have seen this course of things, has made a bad use of his eyes or his memory. How roughly ih dividuals, communities, and even truth itself 18 often handled by such summary sentences, every writer on logic or ethics accounts it his duty to show.
