"Enter the religious landscape of California's industrial agriculture in the 1940s. Anthropologist Walter Goldschmidt's early 1940s reconnaissance tour of the social scene in the little town of Wasco offers us a composite picture of religious institutions in a typical industrial-ag town in the state. Anthropologists and sociologists of the time pointed to the proliferation of Pentecostal churches as evidence of industrial farming's undesirable social outcomes. In particular, they noted the enthusiastic and emotional expressions of Pentecostal services and how the recently dispossessed Dust Bowl or "Okie" migrants flocked into these churches. By the 1940s, Dorothea Lange's photograph of the Okie "Migrant Mother" capturing the pathos of white plight had surfaced and caught the national spotlight. California, many noted, had a migration problem, as many "undesirables" flooded into the state. Women such as the one captured in Lange's photograph "Revival Mother" standing and worshipping with eyes closed and raised hands in a makeshift garage church typified the poverty of Pentecostals described by the university researchers"--

Be like the farmers and sow for a change in your life circumstances. In due season you will reap your harvest, it's time to grow in GRACE, you have been in kindergarten for too many years. God has blessed you to care for children but yet you are still acting as a child when it comes to honoring GOD. Grow up and honor GOD! Give and it shall be given unto you, good measure press down, shaken together and running over. Stop! Stop looking at your pastor as getting your money it's a seed that you sow to honor GOD. It didn't matter much where you sow your money when you didn't know any better. You've tried everything and anything that came with a convincing line telling you to sow your money into this are that and you will win more. The instruction didn't come with a defi nite fact that you are going to win; it guarantees a chance. That's man traditional way of sowing and believing. God's way for sowing is throughout the Bible. GOD's promises are: Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your understanding, God will direct your path. With a path like this any person seeking for new direction can't go wrong, with trusting GOD. Get the rope from around your neck; during slavery days, people didn't have a choice when the rope was place around their neck. They were tied down like cattle, bound and sail to sea, for some; they hung from a tree. Today, you have a choice. Farmer's believe in the process of a seed sown. A farmer can have only one seed; plant the seed and simultaneously have faith that the one seed will reproduce after its own kind. We should have faith like a farmer. If we can just believe that seeds reproduce after its own kind, and believe as the farmer believes; our circumstances will change while going through the process. Are you planting seeds?

The principle of sowing and reaping begins at conception and remains a continuous part of our lives. Our daily encounters are the harvest of our previous plantings. The enjoyment or endurance of today's harvest is based on yesterday's seeds. Likewise, the seed s that we plant today will be reflected in tomorrow's harvest.

Do not deceive yourselves; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows that shall he also reap. For he that sows to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption, but he that sows in the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap eternal life. (Galatians 6:7-8) We can't get away from the principle of reaping what we sow. If we sow good seed, we anticipate a great harvest. But if we sow weeds, we'll harvest no more than we sowed. The same is true spiritually and practically. If we want a reward in heaven, we must live for Christ. On the other hand, if we lie, cheat, swear, steal, get drunk, use drugs, or otherwise fulfill the lusts of the flesh, the reality is we'll pay the consequences both now and in eternity. No matter how much society tries to convince us otherwise, this law has proven to be true without fail. This is the bright truth held before us in this little book – if we sow good seed, we will reap a great harvest. While sowing and caring for the seed sown isn't without work, the promise of a great harvest is what keeps us going and what brings joy to our labors. Be assured that it is not in vain to spend much time pruning, weeding, and carefully watching over the garden of your heart and the hearts of those you love.

My text applies to the individual, whether he be saint or sinner or hypocrite who thinks he is a saint; it applies to the family; it applies to society; it applies to nations. I say the law that the result of actions must be reaped is as true for nations as for individuals; indeed, some one has said that as nations have no future existence, the present world is the only place to punish them as nations. See how God has dealt with them. See if they have not reaped what they sowed. Take Amalek: "Remember what Amalek did unto thee by the way, when ye were come forth out of Egypt; how he met thee, by the way, and smote the hindmost of thee, even all that were feeble behind thee, when thou wast faint and weary; and he feared not God." What was to be the result of this attack? Was it to go unpunished? God ordained that Amalek should reap as they sowed, and the nation was all but wiped out of existence under King Saul. What has become of the monarchies and empires of the world? What brought ruin on Babylon? Her king and people would not obey God, and ruin came upon them. What has become of Greece and all her power? She once ruled the world. What has become of Rome and all her greatness? When their cup of iniquity was full, it was dashed to the ground. - Taken from "Sowing and Reaping" written by D. L. Moody

A practical guide to connecting with plants through ceremony • Explains how to commune with plants and their spirits through the traditional shamanic method of “plant dieting” to receive their teachings and guidance • Details 8 ceremonial plant initiations centered on common, easily recognized plants and trees such as primrose, dandelion, oak, and dog rose • Provides instructions to develop your own sacred plant initiations and make ceremonial plant elixirs • Includes four audio journeys to facilitate plant initiations In this guide to sacred plant initiations, medical herbalist and shamanic practitioner Carole Guyett explains how to commune with plants and their spirits through the traditional shamanic method of “plant dieting.” A plant diet involves ingesting a particular plant over a period of time so you regularly receive the plant’s vibratory energy as well as its medicinal actions. Adding a ceremonial element to plant dieting offers a sacred initiation by the plant world, allowing you to connect deeply with all aspects of a plant, receive its sacred teachings, and forge a relationship for guidance and healing, benefitting both yourself and others. Each of the eight ceremonial plant initiations detailed in the book was personally developed by the author through extensive work with her ceremonial groups. They each center on an easily recognized plant or tree such as primrose, dandelion, oak, and dog rose. These common plants have powerful teachings and healing guidance to share with those who communicate with and honor them. The initiations, for both individuals and groups, work with the Wheel of the Year, honoring each plant’s sacred timing and connecting with one of the eight Celtic and Pre-Celtic Fire Festivals--the solstices, equinoxes, and the holy days of Beltane, Lughnasadh, Samhain, and Imbolc. Offering practical instructions so you can develop your own sacred plant initiations, the author also include access to 4 audio journeys to facilitate the initiations in the book. She also explains how to make plant elixirs for use in plant diets and for healing. She shows how connecting with plants allows us to deepen our relationship with Nature, access higher levels of consciousness and spiritual realms, and facilitate the full flowering of human potential.

"A man expects to reap when he sows; he expects to reap the same kind of seed that he sows; he expects to reap more; and ignorance of the kind of seed makes no difference." We are constantly on the cycle of sowing and reaping, and we will definitely reap the fruits that we sowed someday. If we sow to the flesh, we will reap the consequences. If we sow to the spiritual things, we will reap spiritual rewards. We cannot expect to harvest good fruits if we sow to our self-seeking desires. Likewise, we cannot expect worldly prosperity and reward when we sow to the spiritual habits. We must choose and decide what kind of fruits we hope to reap. Do we yearn for the world or heaven? We must choose one over the other, as we cannot serve both masters at the same time. "Sow a thought and reap an act. Sow an act, and reap a habit. Sow a habit, and reap a character. Sow a character and reap a destiny." And it takes a longer time to reap than to sow.
