In her early-sixties Beth joined Shortlands Poetry Circle, near Bromley in Kent, where she was living at the time. She discovered what was to be a love affair with poetry which lasted for the rest of her life. When Beth moved to Derbyshire she was keen to join a poetry group, only to find that Belper did not have one. So she started her own group, Belper Poetry Circle which met at Beth's cottage. Soon there was a demand for an evening group for working people, which led to the creation of the Poetry People group. Beth was the inspiration for a Poetry Trail in Belper. The trail is a wonderful set of twenty poems in different mediums such as granite, slate or glass. The poems can be found in locations around the town. Many are within easy reach of the River Gardens which is shown on the front cover. This book is a collection of Beth's poems, together with memories of Beth held by her family and friends.

It provides: - practical advice on managing income and funding a career - detailed information on printing and distribution, marketing and publicity, and submission to editors, reviewers and prizes - up-to-date contacts for funding organisations, prizes, publishers and magazines for poets and their work.
