This watershed analysis is presented as part of the Aquatic Conservation Strategy (ACS) adopted for the President’s Northwest Forest Plan (NWFP) Record of Decision for Amendments to Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management Planning Documents within the Range of the Northern Spotted Owl (NSO), including Standards and Guidelines for Management of Habitat for Late-Successional and Old-Growth Related Species (NWFP, 1994). The preparation of the Mt. Shasta Watershed Analysis follows direction in the ACS that requires watershed analysis “for roadless areas in non-key watersheds, and Riparian Reserves prior to determining how long management activities meet Aquatic Conservation Strategy objectives” (NWFP, 1994).
