"Abstract: Seven new species of Trizogeniates Ohaus, 1917 (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Rutelinae: Geniatini) from Brazil are described: Trizogeniates beckeri new species, T. curvatus new species, T. eliskae new species, T. hallensorum new species, T. spatulatus new species, T. vazdemelloi new species, and T. zuzanae new species. The male of T. eris Villatoro, 2002 is described for the first time. The diagnostic features of the seven new species and the male of T. eris are presented and compared with their congeners. Illustrations of specimens, mouthparts, and male genitalia of the new species and T. eris are also provided. Additionally, an identification key and an illustrated catalogue with the geographic distribution of the Brazilian species of Trizogeniates are presented. New Brazilian state records for 12 species are depicted: T. cribricollis (Lucas, 1859) from Pará, Mato Grosso do Sul, and Paraná; T. dispar (Burmeister, 1844) from Espírito Santo; T. eris from Rio de Janeiro; T. goyanus Ohaus, 1917 from Mato Grosso do Sul; T. laevis (Camerano, 1878) and T. montanus Ohaus, 1917 from Espírito Santo and Paraná; T. temporalis Ohaus, 1917 from Goiás; T. terricolus Ohaus, 1917 and T. vittatus (Lucas, 1859) from Paraná; and T. traubi Martínez, 1965 from Pará, Minas Gerais, and São Paulo. The tribe Macrodactylini (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Melolonthinae) is reviewed from southern South America. A total of 13 genera and 33 species were found in the study area consisting of Argentina from Neuquén south and Chile from IV Región de Coquimbo south. The following three new genera are described: Extenuoptyophis, Insimuloissacaris, and Neuquenodactylus. The following 11 new species are described: Ampliodactylus elguetai, Ampliodactylus guinezi, Ampliodactylus inusitus, Ampliodactylus panguipullensis, Extenuoptyophis horridulus, Extenuoptyophis metropolitensis, Insimuloissacaris nahuelbutensis, Issacaris falsa, Issacaris sola, Neuquenodactylus ramus, and Phytholaema fenestra. The species Schizochelus modestus Philippi, 1861 is transferred to the genus Ampliodactylus. Lectotypes are designated for the following five species-group names (species names given in their original combination): Dicrania aeneobrunneaPhilippi, 1861, Modialis prasinella Fairmaire & Germain, 1860, Phytholaema elaphocera Redtenbacher, 1868, Phytholaema herrmanni Germain, 1901, and Schizochelus modestus Philippi, 1861. Neotypes are designated for the following four species-group names (species names given in their original combination): Acanthosternum splendens Philippi, 1861, Areoda mutabilis Solier, 1851, Issacaris petalophora Fairmaire, 1889, and Phytholaema flavipes Philippi, 1861. The genera Modialis Fairmaire & Germain, 1860 and Phytholaema Blanchard, 1851 are here transferred to the tribe Macrodactylini. The species-group names Phytholaema pallida Saylor, 1937 and Phytholaema peccans Blackwelder, 1944 are placed in synonymy with Phytholaema herrmanni Germain, 1901. Descriptions or diagnoses, keys, and distributional data are given for all species.

The approximate type locality of Chrysina adelaida (Hope, 1841) (Coleoptera: Scarabaeidae: Rutelinae) is fixed in the mountains of southeastern Mexico. Chrysina occidentalis Robacker and Hawks is described as a new species from the Sierra Madre Occidental in northwestern Mexico based on morphometric comparisons of adults and genital capsules with those of C. adelaida from southeastern Mexico and with those of C. adelaida (of authors) from neighboring states south of the Sierra Madre Occidental.
