Excerpt from Eighth Report of the Secretary of the Class of 1865, of Harvard College: June, 1890, to July, 1895 I have attempted to bring down to date the summary of degrees and other honors received by the members of the Class, which is given in the list printed at the beginning of the Report. Two new names will be found in the list of graduated mem bers - that of George B. Russell, who received his degree in 1891, as of our Class, and that of John W. Carter, who received his degree in 1892 as of our Class. The recent sad death of the latter, following so closely upon our Class dinner, at which he was present, was a shock to us all. The account of his life must be delayed till the next Report. Two others of our number have died during the past five years, Howard and Doe.
