The search for physics beyond the Standard Model is one of the primary motivations of the Run II at the Tevatron. The CDF collaboration has been very active in this field by searching in a variety of final states for signals of new physics processes. The observation of no significant deviation from the Standard Model has led to limits on the cross-sections of the considered processes, which, in turn, have been used to constrain several models that predict such new physics scenarios.

We present results of recent searches for new physics using the CDF detector at the Fermilab Tevatron. Presented are searches for Higgs →??, as well as more general searches in?? + X where X is /E{sub T}, jets, charged leptons, b-quarks or extra photons. The CDF ee??/E{sub T} candidate event is discussed along with estimates of the expected rates in the Standard Model. Other searches for SUSY, Higgs and Technicolor look for particles which decay to vector bosons and b-quarks.

The LHC is in the frontline of experimental searches for New Physics beyond the Standard Model of Particle Physics. Its power is accompanied by no smaller challenges in analyzing and interpreting its results. In this thesis I explore ways to parameterize new physics phenomena, design search strategies that are sensitive to them, and interpret experimental results in general new physics contexts. In particular, I discuss interpretations of the first ATLAS analysis for supersymmetry with 70/nb of integrated luminosity. I also carry a careful investigation of comprehensive search strategies for new physics with jets and missing energy signatures, and estimate the sensitivity bounds of the 7 TeV LHC to new colored particles decaying to jets and and a neutral particle that escapes detection. Finally, I discuss the implications of the recent LHC excesses hinting to a Higgs boson with mass in the range 142-147 GeV. If confirmed, this range for the Higgs mass will be an important evidence for Split Supersymmetry. I work out the phenomenological predictions of this scenario that will be tested in the very near future by a variety of experiments, including direct and indirect dark matter detection, EDM experiments searching for CP violation and the 7 TeV run of the LHC.

This primer describes the general model independent searches for new physics phenomena beyond the Standard Model of particle physics. First, the motivation for performing general model independent experimental searches for new physics is presented by giving an overview of the current theoretical understanding of particle physics in terms of the Standard Model of particle physics and its shortcomings. Then, the concept and features of general model independent search for new physics at collider based experiments is explained. This is followed by an overview of such searches performed in past high energy physics experiments and the current status of such searches, particularly in the context of the experiments at the LHC. Finally, the future prospects of such general model independent searches, with possible improvements using new tools such as machine learning techniques, is discussed.

We present recent results of searches for new physics in 110 pb{sup - 1} of p{anti p} collisions at √s = 1800 GeV using the CDF detector. Presented are searches for third generation leptoquarks, charged and neutral Higgs bosons and the supersymmetric partner of the top quark ({tilde t}). A search for new physics in diphoton events tests some models attempting to explain the CDF è̀e??E{sub T} ̀̀event. Finding no signal in any of these channels, production limits are presented.

We present recent results on searches for physics beyond the Standard Model obtained from the analysis of 1 fb{sup -1} of data collected at the Tevatron Collider by the CDF Collaboration. We report on model-independent studies for anomalous production of {ell}{gamma} + X, {ell}{gamma}bE{sub T} and {gamma}{gamma} + E{sub T}, Standard Model t{bar t}{gamma} production. We also present results for the Randall-Sundrum Gravitons, the same-sign dileptons and the trileptons searches. No significant excess of data over the predicted background is observed.

This paper summarizes results of recent searches for new phenomena with the CDF and D0 detectors at the Fermilab Tevatron. All results shown correspond to analysis from the past Run I data corresponding to a total integrated luminosity of (approximately) 100 pb−1 per experiment. In particular, the authors show new results from stop quark searches, neutral supersymmetric Higgs boson searches, a reinterpretation of the CDF second and third generation leptoquark searches in terms of leptoquark resonant production through technicolor interactions and, finally, they report a new D0 search for large extra space dimensions from high mass Drell-Yan dielectron and diphoton events.

A brief review of searches for physics beyond the Standard Model with photons using the CDF detector at the Tevatron is given here. These include searches for supersymmetry, extra dimensions, excited electrons and W/Z+[gamma] production, as well as anomalous photon production. Recent results from CDF Run II experiment are presented, but some results from Run I are also reviewed.

We present the current status of the search for new physics at CDF, using integrated luminosity up to 3.2 fb−1. We cover searches for supersymmetry, extra dimensions, new heavy bosons, and generic dilepton resonances.
