En 1929, il fonde la Scuderia Ferrari, dont l'ambition est a l'origine de faire courir les clients d'Alfa Romeo. Mais rapidement, la Scuderia Ferrari devient le bras arme officiel d'Alfa en competition. En 1938, Enzo Ferrari se brouille avec Alfa Romeo qui cherche a prendre le controle de la Scuderia Ferrari et retrouve son independance.
