This alumni record lists all the graduates of Hillsdale College, by class, from 1856 through 1875. The record also includes the constitution of the Alumni Association; a history of Hillsdale College alums; an alumni oration delivered on June 16, 1875 by Hon. Joseph T. Hoke, LL.D.; a poem "Night and Morning" by Minnie Ward Patterson, delivered at the Alumni Reunion, June 16, 1875; a list of Hillsdale College trustees, presidents, professors, tutors, Ladies' Department principals, secretaries and treasurers, and the principals of the Commercial Department. Appended to this is the list of individuals to whom Hillsdale College has granted honorary degrees, from 1858 to 1876. The entries for the graduates include their class, name, address, present occupation, the degree earned at graduation, place of birth, date of birth, date of marriage, and to whom they were married. Also noted, in a separate section, are degrees earned by alums at other colleges after graduating from Hillsdale College. And finally a list of deceased members with the year of their graduation, date of death, place of death, and cause of death. Also listed are the deceased wives and husbands of alumni.
