Download Proceedings of 8th GACM Colloquium on Computational Mechanics Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This conference book contains papers presented at the 8th GACM Colloquium on Computational Mechanics for Young Scientists from Academia and Industry. The conference was held from August 28th – 30th, 2019 in Kassel, hosted by the Institute of Mechanics and Dynamics of the department for civil and environmental engineering and by the chair of Engineering Mechanics / Continuum Mechanics of the department for mechanical engineering of the University of Kassel. The aim of the conference is, to bring together young scientits who are engaged in academic and industrial research on Computational Mechanics and Computer Methods in Applied Sciences. It provides a plattform to present and discuss recent results from research efforts and industrial applications. In more than 150 presentations, given by young scientists, current scientific developments and advances in engineering practice in this field are presented and discussed. The contributions of the young researchers are supplemented by a poster session and plenary talks from four senior scientists from academia and industry as well as from the GACM Best PhD Award winners 2017 and 2018.

Download Critical Currents In Superconductors - Proceedings Of The 7th International Workshop Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Applications of superconductivity at the boiling temperature of liquid nitrogen continue to challenge physicists, materials scientists and engineers all over the world eight years after the discovery of high temperature superconductivity. The key to a solution of today's problems lies in the optimization of the defect structure in well-oriented oxide materials as well as in a fundamental understanding of the magnetic microstructures in the mixed state and how they are affected by the crystallographic nature ('dimensionality') of these materials. Fifteen invited overview lectures as well as approximately 150 contributed papers highlight the state of the art in this important field of superconductivity and review our current knowledge of critical currents in superconductors.

Download Proceedings of the 21st International Symposium on High Voltage Engineering Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
High voltage engineering is extremely important for the reliable design, safe manufacture and operation of electric devices, equipment and electric power systems. The 21st International Symposium on High Voltage Engineering, organized by the 90 years old Budapest School of High Voltage Engineering, provides an excellent forum to present results, advances and discussions among engineers, researchers and scientists, and share ideas, knowledge and expertise on high voltage engineering. The proceedings of the conference presents the state of the art technology of the field. The content is simultaneously aiming to help practicing engineers to be able to implement based on the papers and researchers to link and further develop ideas.

This book provides a complete overview of significant design challenges in respect to circuit miniaturization and power reduction of the neural recording system, along with circuit topologies, architecture trends, and (post-silicon) circuit optimization algorithms. The introduced novel circuits for signal conditioning, quantization, and classification, as well as system configurations focus on optimized power-per-area performance, from the spatial resolution (i.e. number of channels), feasible wireless data bandwidth and information quality to the delivered power of implantable system.
