Our continual challenge as sentient human beings is to embrace the capacity to observe with awe the immense beauty of our planet, and recognise the intrinsic ‘goodness’ of our fellow travellers, despite differences in culture, colour, creed or ideology. Too often we are submerged in a tsunami of negative images, selectively provided by an unsympathetic 24/7 mass media, often too eager for a quick emotive ‘hit’ to our senses and sensibilities. My first book ‘Our Benevolent Cosmos – Embracing the Mystery of Life’ highlighted the enchantment, rather than the unresolved nature of some of the most difficult questions in our lifetime. This companion to that book, containing poetry and a summary of my own thoughts and hypotheses, continues to focus on the beauty of the world; the importance of the many dimensions of love; and the richness of the life we have been given. Grant yourself the freedom to look beyond the rigid, self-made boundaries of our secular existence to green fields on the horizon, replete with abundant wildflowers and the promise of beauty, love and life!

What kind of a universe do we live in? Where do we fit into the galaxies? Does God explain it all? We live in a staggering cosmos which only we understand and appreciate. This book locates us in a cosmic story. We need to bring together science, the humanities, experience and self-awareness. The world revealed by modern science is a source of great wonder. Yet Darwinism makes belief in a loving god virtually impossible. And by our knowledge and appetites we are destroying our habitat by carbon emissions and global warming. Death is a fact of life, but, unless we take drastic action, human life itself will become barely possible. What can we do to save our grandchildren? How can we find happiness without god and without destroying our descendants? We have to learn how to live in a new way. We need to deepen our instincts for reciprocity and compassion. We can learn how to thrive in harsh circumstances with the help of the philosophy, theology and poetry of both East and West. Above all, we need to use our own judgment. We can find satisfaction through, for example, art and exploration without deflowering the earth. And by meditation we can develop an inner space of still delight.

Two familiar worldviews dominate Western philosophy: materialist atheism and the benevolent God of the Abrahamic faiths. Tim Mulgan explores a third way. Ananthropocentric Purposivism claims that there is a cosmic purpose, but human beings are irrelevant to it. Purpose in the Universe develops a philosophical case for Ananthropocentric Purposivism that it is at least as strong as the case for either theism or atheism. The book borrows traditional theist arguments to defend a cosmic purpose. These include cosmological, teleological, ontological, meta-ethical, and mystical arguments. It then borrows traditional atheist arguments to reject a human-centred purpose. These include arguments based on evil, diversity, and the scale of the universe. Mulgan also highlights connections between morality and metaphysics, arguing that evaluative premises play a crucial and underappreciated role in metaphysical debates about the existence of God, and Ananthropocentric Purposivism mutually supports an austere consequentialist morality based on objective values. He concludes that, by drawing on a range of secular and religious ethical traditions, a non-human-centred cosmic purpose can ground a distinctive human morality. Our moral practices, our view of the moral universe, and our moral theory are all transformed if we shift from the familiar choice between a universe without meaning and a universe where humans matter to the less self-aggrandising thought that, while it is about something, the universe is not about us.

What if I told you that complete acceptance of our identity is fundamental to our way of life, since every interaction emerges from our authentic self? The number one problem nowadays is the fact we have lost contact with our true identity. We subscribe to ideologies and beliefs regarding who we should be because we want to be accepted. This comes at a cost to our self-worth, since we give up an aspect of ourselves and lose our authenticity. Are you tired of not having your personal needs met? Do you want to live a better life but don't know how? My book will help you reconnect you with the core of your essential self. It is a move away from whom you should be, which is adopted by popular culture. My book invites you to reconnect with the deepest part of your being, which knows who you are and how you should live. * You have more power than you realise. * More genius than you can imagine. * More wisdom and knowledge than you can ever access. * When you let go of the false belief that you are lacking or inadequate, in that moment, you arouse your potential. This is not a patronising statement to seduce you into a false belief. You have unlimited power, and accessing that power is the basis of my book 'Awaken Your Authentic Self.' My name is Tony Fahkry. I am a three-time author, expert speaker and life coach for over 15 years. I believe everyone has great potential within them. It is a matter of awakening it to reach your most efficient level. By focusing on what is meaningful to you, my book will bring value to your life by helping you think clearly and make decisions in alignment with who you are. My book will help you discover your genius, talents and gifts and awakening your highest potential. If you are ready to break free from your limited beliefs, thoughts, and ideas of the world, I invite you to purchase your copy of 'Awaken Your Authentic Self' today, so you can experience the results I speak of. Unless you challenge the status quo, you will remain one of the masses. One has only to look to mainstream culture to see the effects the media and marketing hype have on our society. Don't become of the masses. You have so much potential within you waiting to come alive. Believe that you are worthy and capable of great things and it will become your reality. Awaken Your Authentic Self is endorsed by the international acclaimed spiritual author and silver prize winner of the Nautilus award, Dennis Merritt Jones, who wrote the foreword.

We stand at the threshold of a revolutionary and empowering new vision of the world. The discoveries of leading-edge science and the insights of spirituality are converging to reveal that the CosMos and all that we term reality is wholly integrated, and that at its most fundamental level, it is a field of information. This is the elemental cosmic mind from which everything emanates, is manifested, and to which all ultimately returns. Research is also demonstrating what the mystics of all traditions have discerned: that we have the innate ability to envision, understand, and experience the CosMos at levels far beyond the limitations of our human persona. CosMos is co-authored by two explorers who combine almost a century of seeking to understand not only how the world is as it is, but why. Philosopher Ervin Laszlo, Ph. D., and healer and scientist Jude Currivan, Ph. D., offer a revisioned view of the world that is no longer fragmented, but is at last, whole. Theirs is a perception of a meaningful and co-creative world that is exquisitely tuned to be ''as simple as it can be'' for consciousness to explore itself. In these momentous times, the vision shared in Cosmos invites us to open our hearts and minds to re-member who we really are and to take our places as conscious co-creators of our realities and of our evolving cosmic destiny.

Humanity’s creative role within the living pattern of nature • Explores important scientific discoveries that reveal the self-organizing intelligence at the heart of nature • Examines the idea of a living cosmos from its roots in the earliest cultures, to its eclipse during the Scientific Revolution, to its return today • Reveals ways to reengage our creative partnership with nature and collaborate with nature’s intelligence For millennia the world was seen as a creative, interconnected web of life, constantly growing, developing, and restoring itself. But with the arrival of the Scientific Revolution in the 16th and 17th centuries, the world was viewed as a lifeless, clocklike mechanism, bound by the laws of classical physics. Intelligence was a trait ascribed solely to human beings, and thus humanity was viewed as superior to and separate from nature. Today new scientific discoveries are reviving the ancient philosophy of a living, interconnected cosmos, and humanity is learning from and collaborating with nature’s intelligence in new, life-enhancing ways, from ecological design to biomimicry. Drawing upon the most important scientific discoveries of recent times, David Fideler explores the self-organizing intelligence at the heart of nature and humanity’s place in the cosmic pattern. He examines the ancient vision of the living cosmos from its roots in the “world soul” of the Greeks and the alchemical tradition, to its eclipse during the Scientific Revolution, to its return today. He explains how the mechanistic worldview led to humanity’s profound sense of alienation, for if the universe only functioned as a machine, there was no longer any room for genuine creativity or spontaneity. He shows how this isn’t the case and how, even at the molecular level, natural systems engage in self-organization, self-preservation, and creative problem solving, mirroring the ancient idea of a creative intelligence that exists deep within the heart of nature. Revealing new connections between science, religion, and culture, Fideler explores how to reengage our creative partnership with nature and new ways to collaborate with nature’s intelligence.
