Total landings of fish and shellfish at Oregon ports during 1959 amounted to 52.4 million pounds at 6.5 million dollars--a drop of 12 percent in volume and 11 percent in value compared with 1958. Flounders, tuna, crabs, rockfishes, and salmon were the leading items during 1959 with 14.4, 10.6, 7.3, 6.0 and 5.0 million pounds respectively. These five varieties of fish and shellfish made up 83 percent of the year's total production.
