When author John Meurs was a nine-year-old schoolboy living in Nazi-occupied Holland, an American B-17 bomber crashed behind his house near the village of Apeldoorn. The date was Sunday, November 26, 1944. Meurs always wanted to know more about what happened in the air on that Thanksgiving Sunday. So, more than sixty years later he started researching "his" B-17. He quickly found that the bomber was part of the 8th Air Force Air Combat Command. Meurs' findings intrigued him and after discovering many interesting facts, Meurs focused his research on the 34 heavy bombers of the Mighty Eighth that were lost that day. He collected the personal stories of veterans who lived through it, families of veterans lost, and witnesses of the crashes. A warm, fun-loving Christmas picture book for families to share and love and laugh over together. A grumpy little troll runs away from home because he doesn't want to do his chores. Rollo tries living with various woodland animals, but he finds out that there is no place like home, and returns to his family just in time for "the best Christmas ever." Among the animals who take him in are an owl family, a mother bear and two rambunctious cubs, some playful river otters, a hungry lynx and a friendly moose family. Jan Brett creates an irresistible, mischievous character that kids will recognize in themselves. Jan transports us to a glorious Scandinavian landscape where a beautiful fall turns into a magnificent snowy winter. Her signature borders depict the troll family missing Rollo, and animals as appealing as those found in The Mitten.

Melody Tarleton is driving home for Christmas when a man—clad in Revolutionary Warera costume—appears out of nowhere, right in the path of her car. Shaken, she takes the injured stranger in, listening with concern to Jake Mallory's fantastic claim that he's a Patriot soldier executed by British authorities. Bringing Jake to her parents' house, Melody concocts a story to explain the handsome holiday guest with the courtly manners and strange clothes. Mark, her close friend who wishes he were more, is skeptical, but her family is fascinated. So is Melody. Jake is passionate, charming and utterly unlike anyone she's ever met. Can he really be who he claims? And can a man from the distant past be the future she truly longs for?

A famous boss. A secret identity. And a hilarious road trip to love. Yes. Yes, Rosie does have a crush on Isaac, her YouTube-famous boss. Does she ever talk to him? Absolutely not. Crippling social anxiety can do that. But Rosie is nothing if not tenacious. Ignoring her friends' advice to just talk to him already (Nope, that's way too hard), she instead opts to pursue a virtual relationship with Isaac using a secret identity. The plan is genius. Online, Rosie has social skills she'd never dream of having in person. She's possibly even cool. If Isaac can just get to know her, he'll see how amazing she is. But then a spontaneous road trip throws Rosie and Isaac together, and their virtual and in-person lives collide. (Eleven hundred miles in a seventy's era VW hatchback? What could possibly go wrong?) Much to Rosie's surprise, she doesn't constantly humiliate herself. Conversation is easy, and their chemistry? It's pretty much off the charts. But every road trip is bound to hit a speed bump or two. Will Rosie's secret identity be the thing that brings them together? Or the thing that tears them apart?
