The purpose of this document is to make available significant national and state inventory and performance data which has not been published elsewhere in this level of detail. The data were collected on a sample basis and furnished b 46 State highway agencies for the 1976 data on the physical aspects of the highway plant and its operating and performance characteristics It includes data for rural and urban arterial and collector systems; local road and street systems are not included in the tables.
