He's back -- L. D. Brodsky's working stiff from St. Louis, with his Bud Light-hued worldview and his uniquely foul-mouthed, malapropistic takes on modern life and his own tenuous place in it. This volume, the title of which is our unlikely hero's trademark interjection, brings together his narrations from seven of Brodsky's short-fiction books, in which he made spot appearances. Together, these episodes in the hilarious chronicle of a true American "rough" prove Brodsky's uncanny ability to satirize both the best and the worst of American culture. You will never again experience anything like Guarangoddamnteeya! -- guarangoddamnteeya!

For as long as the idea of "miracles" has been in the public sphere, the conversation about them has been shaped exclusively by religious apologists and Christian leaders. The definitions for what a miracles are have been forged by the same men who fought hard to promote their own beliefs as fitting under that umbrella. It's time for a change. Enter John W. Loftus, an atheist author who has earned three master's degrees from Lincoln Christian Seminary and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Loftus, a former student of noted Christian apologist William Lane Craig, got some of the biggest names in the field to contribute to this book, which represents a critical analysis of the very idea of miracles. Incorporating his own thoughts along with those of noted academics, philosophers, and theologians, Loftus is able to properly define "miracle" and then show why there's no reason to believe such a thing even exists. Addressing every single issue that touches on miracles in a thorough and academic manner, this compilation represents the most extensive look at the phenomenon ever displayed through the lens of an ardent nonbeliever. If you've ever wondered exactly what a miracle is, or doubted whether they exist, then this book is for you.

This is a two part book dealing with the only two sermons I have given in my life, both dealing with personal experiences and observations. The first "Miracles--Maybe? deals with a time in my life (57 to 72) when one good deed led to a series of happenings and events that I could not fully understand or explain. All I could do is shake my head and say or think "Lord you did it again". The Hispanics who were a large part of the story still remain my very dear friends. The second (Where Have All The Churches Gone) started about 50 years ago when on a trip to Sweden my good Swedish friend, Bjorn Wahlstrom and I made a bet of a dollar in front of a number of his influential Swedish buddies as witnesses. He made this statement "in a hundred years the United States will be just like Sweden--only a few old people will be left to practice Christianity." I took him up on that bet, even though neither of us would be alive to settle the bet. He died last year, and as we enter the half way point I am afraid he might be winning, but there is still time. This book is my feeble attempt to keep Christianity alive and well and get others to "keep the fire burning".. "Bjorn, nothing would make me happier than if you and I make it to heaven and we meet again in 50 years and you have to pay me the dollar."

The #1 bestselling author of Bonhoeffer and Martin Luther explores miracles in an inspiring response to the “New Atheists” Not since C. S. Lewis in 1947 has an author of Eric Metaxas’s stature undertaken a major exploration of the phenomenon of miracles. In this groundbreaking work, Metaxas examines the compatibility between faith and science and provides well-documented anecdotal evidence of actual miracles. With compelling—sometimes electrifying—evidence that there is something real to be reckoned with, Metaxas offers a timely, civil, and thoughtful answer to recent books by Richard Dawkins, Christopher Hitchens, and Sam Harris. Already a New York Times bestseller, Miracles will be welcomed by both believers and skeptics—who will find their minds opening to the possibilities.

This is a true story of faith, hope, and love that happened to two average people who came from small towns in Iowa, the heartland of America. God has blessed both of us with miracles, time and again, asking nothing in return except for love and reverence for Him. This is our testimony. As we look back at our lives, it often becomes clear that God intervened, at times and in ways that we did not understand. His plans for us aren't always or even very often understood, but they are always perfect, and all we have to do is believe, have faith, and trust Him. While reflecting on our lives, we decided that the story of how God had blessed us so abundantly, time and again with true miracles, had to be told. This book was born with the goal to glorify God in thankful praise for His blessings to our lives and to give hope to all those facing life's challenges every day. Never give up! God does answer prayer and we are living proof of His grace and love. Miracles do happen every day. Never stop believing.
