John Billingsley (1587?-1659) of Shropshire, England moved to Holland in the 1630s, possibly for religious reasons. His children settled in Nansemond Co., Virginia about 1649. Samuel Billingsley (1852-1932) of Round Prairie Township, Jefferson Co., Iowa, married Mary Agnes Hulse (d. 1941) in 1875.
