Yayana asked in disbelief. "Are they crazy? Do they want to be eaten?" "My guess is they probably do not want to be eaten," Farni said with a smirk. "Ya think?" Yayana said sarcastically, brushing some dirt off his striped black and white fur... "Magic Moon needs us to think of a plan to get the villagers to come speak with him." "Yeah, like we'll just say, 'Hey, villagers, there's a huge, alien moon-like being who not only can talk to you, but who can keep Brown Bear and his kind from attacking you!'" Yayana scoffed. "No problem!" "So, our plan is to 'come up with a plan, '" Farni said. "We'll make it happen, somehow," Yayana said. EXCERPT 2 (Magic Moon's New World): Magic Moon turned toward Kimiyya. "Your scientists are very learned," he said. "Thank you," said Kimiyya. "May I ask you another question?" "Certainly," said Magic Moon. "However, I may or may not answer you..." "I understand," Kimiyya said. "May I visit you in the future? I could learn much from you." "Of course," replied Magic Moon. "I look forward to our scientific discourses." "What's a discourse?" whispered Farni to Yayana. "All I know is it's very long and very boring," Yayana replied. EXCERPT 3 (Jackson's World): Jackson took his place as second in line, sighing. Maybe next time. Just then, Mike, one of his classmates who tended to bully other students, ran smack into Tim and knocked him out of line. "I'm FIRST, I'm FIRST," Mike crowed. Jackson noticed Tim getting up from the ground, his hands scraped and bleeding. Tim's face was turning red. Jackson was a little bit afraid of Mike... Mike had never bullied him.
