The Christmas story evokes many touching images. Halos, fresh hay, shepherds carrying newborn lambs, and young motherhood in blue homespun. It's enough to bring tears to the eyes of Christmastime churchgoers. But the Christmas story is more than sentimental--it is powerful. It deals with real people, it involves pain, and it is one of the most strikingly unusual stories in all history. Above all, its main emphasis is not on the infancy of Jesus but on the deity of Jesus--and why that deity took the form of an infant. It's a story that still has deep meaning today.

The nativity story is a wonderful Christmas story that has been told from generation to generation. We all love to see children enjoying this enjoyable representation of the birth of Jesus, with smiles and laughter often being part of the play. It is the highlight of the year, for some... The idea of writing the nativity story through e-mails, poetry and acronyms is an attempt to make it fun in a similar ad hoc way, and as a modern audience, we see things from the perspective of the digital age. Although so many people have seen the 3WYM (Three Wise Men) attend the birth of Jesus in nativity plays, it is believed that they actually followed the star about a year and a half after the birth of Jesus, and this led them to Mary and Joseph's son. Also, it is known that three gifts were brought, yet there is no mention of there being 'three' wise men, and the number is simply something that has been passed on from one generation to the next over the years, through oral tradition initially. Therefore, the nativity story, which brings with it joy and wonder, is being retold in this book - I hope that the characters come to life for you, as much as they did for me when I wrote it. Anything in written form is never going to be as delightful as the wonderful sight of children performing the nativity play, but I hope that this book offers at least another perspective on the world famous nativity story!

Christmas is eagerly awaited by Lulu, a young girl living in a small Wisconsin town during the Great Depression. Anticipation is transformed into anxiety when Daddy loses his job, doubts about Santa flicker, and that Shirley Temple doll seems further away than ever. Mama reveals her own brutal Christmas as an orphan, adding new worries. But it's Lulu's deep faith and vibrant hope that keeps her looking forward to each new day and the glorious gift of Christmas. In her touching memoir, Ludmilla Bollow, an award-winning playwright and novelist, recounts the year before her family's toughest Christmas. There's a haunting encounter with freaks at a circus sideshow, the heartbreaking loss of the town's recluse who was committed to finding true love, a disastrous Thanksgiving at Grandma's, and, of course, the long-awaited Christmas! Lulu's spirit of love and joy radiates throughout this emotional recall of family life during hard times.

Partly because we don’t know how. In Unwrapping the Names of Jesus, Asheritah Ciuciu leads readers through the four weeks of Advent (Hope, Preparation, Joy, and Love). Each week: Begins with an interactive family devotional that equips readers to celebrate Advent together Offers five daily reflections that focus on that week's name of Jesus Includes suggestions for fun-filled family activities or service projects This devotional can be used by readers in their own personal worship times or as a tool to engage in family worship during the busy holiday season. Either way, participants will gain a greater sense of awe and wonder at who Jesus is. By focusing on the person and character of Jesus throughout the Advent season, readers will prepare their hearts so that when they admire the live nativity, sit in the candlelight service, or wake up on Christian morning, they can join the faithful who sing from the bottom of their hearts, "O come, let us adore Him, Christ the Lord!"
