Excerpt from Longevity of Onion Seed in Relation to Storage Conditions Four stocks (different varieties) of onion Seed grown in 1929 were dried at 30 to-35 C. To a uniform moisture content of 6 percent. Seeds were placed in test tubes and stored at room temperature and at constant temperatures of 40 and 20 F. Sealed and not sealed. In addition to the seeds of 6-percent moisture, lots were adjusted to 8 percent and 10 percent of moisture before pla cing. In storage. The moisture content of the seed when received In December 1929 was approximately 7. 5 percent, and the mean germination of the four stocks was 85. 8 percent, as determined by the laboratory method.
