This volume integrates a conceptual framework with participatory methodologies to understand the complexities of dryland socio-ecological systems, and to address challenges and opportunities for stewardship of future drylands and climate change in the global south. This book reconciles competing and sometimes contradictory forms of land use, while also promoting sustainable land use options. This open access book presents and discusses current issues and innovative solution approaches for land management in a European context.
