La búsqueda de productos naturales o ecológicos por parte de los consumidores se ha visto en aumento en muchos sectores, siendo uno de ellos el de la cosmética. Para conocer el origen de un producto se leen las diferentes etiquetas que contiene el envase del producto, pero la falta de regulación en este ámbito por parte de la industria cosmética pone en duda la veracidad del etiquetado y si las empresas realizan trampas en su uso. El presente trabajo recoge un marco teórico que está divido en dos capítulos. El primero pretende contextualizar el mundo de la cosmética y definir cada concepto para saber reconocerlos y diferenciarlos. Respecto al segundo capítulo trata de cómo crear una identidad visual corporativa enfocada en dar una imagen sostenible, natural o ecológica, las estrategias de marketing más usadas en estos ámbitos y los elementos que suelen usar en los envases de los productos. Finalmente en el mismo capítulo se habla de lo que es el greenwashing y cómo lo usan las empresas. La parte empírica analiza los conocimientos que tienen los usuarios sobre cosmética, greenwashing y certificaciones así como la percepción que les genera un producto u otro y los diferentes elementos que lo componen.
