The resource management function shall determine whether each emitter constitutes a threat, and if so, a response shall be determined. This function shall assign a lethality to each threat emitter based on the degree of threat to the IEWS airframe. The emitters shall then be ordered by lethality and resources shall be assigned. Where resources are limited, the emitters of higher lethality shall be assigned those resources preferentially. The function shall also initiate, monitor, and terminate the operation of the emitter tracker (ET), techniques generator (TG), and other units. This function shall also control operation of the SS auxiliary bus for ET and TG data. This function shall assign channels and special technique generators on the basis of function and availability, and shall pass necessary parameters to the units mentioned above.

The SC shall control the IEWS display and shall respond to operator requests. The D/C consists of a polar symbolic display, an alphanumeric display and several indicators and controls. The SC shall maintain the polar display by periodically sending to the D/C a threat descriptor for each of 64 angle cells, in one of several modes chosen by the operator. The SC shall maintain the alphanumeric display by sending the threat parameters for emitters requested by the operator. The SC shall pass to the display, several indications of environment status and shall pass to other SC modules, operator requests for changes in their operation. The D/C will be capable of operating in several modes (some of them simultaneously).

The Data Extraction Subprogram shall format data extraction data buffers for output to the STE by the EXMSG routine. The Data Extraction Subprogram shall run concurrently with the background ECM software in the RMP, CP and AP processors. Data Extraction Subprogram shall be abbreviated DE. The DE Subprogram shall be table driven in that each DE point shall provide a pointer to a table entry which specifies what data will be extracted. The DE Subprogram shall assemble the data, attach the current value of system time, and add a header for Executive Message (EXMSG) transfer. The DE Subprogram shall then call EXMSG to transmit the DE message to the STE.

This CDBDD (Common Data Base Design Document) specifies the computer program common data requisite to the Integrated Electronic Warfare System (lEWS) Advanced Development Model (ADM). This program shall be addressed herein as the IEWS-ADM program. Common data is that data required by two or more modules and/or blocks of the IEWS-ADM program. This CDBDD, based upon the CPPS (Computer Program Performance Specification) and developed in accordance with the CPDS (Computer Program Design Specification), provides a detailed description of all common data tables, variables, constants, flags and indices.
