Download The Saffron Surge Untold Story of RSS Leadership Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Right since its inception; there has been a tradition in the RSS of not highlighting the work of an individual; so the lives and work done by the Sarsanghchalaks have not been discussed publicly much. The general perception is that the RSS chief (Sarsanghchalak) is one of the most powerful persons in the country as he holds sway over millions of swayamsevaks (volunteers) and dozens of organisations run by these swayamsevaks including the Bharatiya Janata Party which rules at the Centre as well as in several states. But what is the truth? What role Sarsanghchalaks have played in shaping the RSS? This well researched book takes one through the lives of the five Sarsanghchalaks who had steered RSS since its inception through one of its most tumultuous years. It tells a hitherto untold story about not only the lives of the Sarsanghchalaks but also the journey of the RSS itself.

Download India’s Foreign Policy Discourse and its Conceptions of World Order Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Given India’s growing power and aspirations in world politics, there has been increasing interest among practitioners and scholars of international relations (IR) in how India views the world. This book offers the first systematic investigation of the world order models in India’s foreign policy discourse. By examining how the signifier ‘world order’ is endowed with meaning in the discourse, it moves beyond Western-centric IR and sheds light on how a state located outside the Western ‘core’ conceptualizes world order. Drawing on poststructuralism and discourse theory, the book proposes a novel analytical framework for studying foreign policy discourses and understanding the changes and continuities in India’s post-cold war foreign policy. It shows that foreign policy and world order have been crucial sites for the (re)production of India’s identity by drawing a political frontier between the Self and a set of Others and placing India into a system of differences that constitutes ‘what India is’. This text will be of key interest to scholars and students of Indian foreign policy, foreign policy analysis, South Asian studies, IR and IR theory, international political thought and global order studies.

Download English Studies in India Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
This volume is a collection of scholarly papers that explore the complex issues concerning English Studies in the present Indian context. The discussions in this volume range from historical perspectives to classroom-specific pedagogies, from sociological and political hierarchies to the dynamics of intellectual development in the English language environment. Interrogating both policy and practice pertaining to English Studies in the context of Indian society, culture, history, literature and governance, the chapters seek to formulate contemporary perspectives to these debates and envision alternative possibilities. Since the introduction of English to India more than 2 centuries ago, the language has transmuted the very fabric of Indian society, culture, history, literature and governance. The idea of India cannot be conceived in its entirety without taking into consideration the epistemological role that English has played in its formation. The present globalized world order has added dimensions to English Studies which are radically different from those of India’s colonial and postcolonial past. It is therefore imperative that the multitudinous shades and shadows of the discipline be re-examined with inputs drawn from the present context. This volume is for scholars and researchers of English literature and language studies, linguistics, and culture studies, and others interested in exploring new paradigms of engagement with the disciplinary formulation of English Studies in India.

Download The Nonprofit Sector in the Developing World Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Recent years have witnessed a significant upsurge of organized private, nonprofit activity in the countries of Asia, Africa and Latin America and with it an appreciation of the role that nonprofit organizations can play in the processes of economic and political change. Long recognized as instruments of relief and promotors of human rights, such organizations have recently come to be viewed also as essential contributors to basic economic growth and to the broader civic infrastucture that is now increasingly seen as a fundamental precondition for markets and representative political institutions to function.
