Of late, however, many revisions have been made in local history: and though Devon has not again been treated as a whole, there are few of its corners which have not been made the subject of independent and painstaking research; while immense masses of original materials have been collected which were either unknown or inaccessible when the Lysonses were engaged on their great work.
