My Grandpa always thought that fairy tales are related to life standards, for it presents to the child a real criticism of life. By bringing forward in high light the character of the fairy, the fairy tales furnishes a unique contribution to life. Through its repeated impression of the idea of fairyhood it may implant in the child a desire which may fructify into that pure, generous, disinterested kindness and love of the grown-up, which aims to play fairy to another, with sincere altruism to make appear before his eyes his heart's desire, or in a twinkling to cause what hitherto seemed impossible. Fairy tales he said are harbingers of that helpfulness which would make a new earth, and as such afford a contribution to the religion of life. I present to you a collection of fairy tales that my Grandpa's read to me as I was a child. I believe and consider today so many years later that fairy tales are a form of art that is not necessary for the child but for the adult as well as the teachers because it reveals the nature of fairy tales and their meaning. It is an aid to that scholarly command of subject-matter which is the first essential for expertness in teaching. Only when we view the fairy tale of today in the light of its past history can we obtain a correct standard by which to judge of its excellence or of its worth. So for whatever is worth I present to you "GRANDPA'S FAIRY TALES".

Download What a Beautiful Morning Book in PDF, Epub and Kindle
Every morning is beautiful when Noah visits his Grandparents. When Grandpa and Noah wake up, they take off singing and hardly stop: walking the dog, splashing through puddles, and eating French toast with cinnamon. But one summer Grandpa seems to have forgotten how to do the things they love. Does he even know who Noah is? Grandma steps in energetically, filling in as best she can. But it is Noah who finds the way back to something he can share with Grandpa. Something musical. Something that makes the morning beautiful again. This is a story about how love helps us find even what we think is lost.

Memories of story telling before the fireplace will remain with me the rest of my life. This wonderful time was followed telling before the pot-bellied stove. Later story telling would be initiated by the little listeners of such stories. Later the children would begin to read and tell their own stories. This book of fairy tales has few visuals. Today, children have sufficient means to visuals. This book is to encourage people to read and then tell their own stories. These five fairy tales have no violence, stress Christian values and end on a positive note. Froggy is the story of a tadpole who desires more space and privacy and leaves to find such a space. He is disliked then loved in his new lake. Runt tells of a goat who does not grow. His mother tells him why and he is happy. He becomes lost, but still finds happiness. The Mean Prince is young boy who never tires of being mean. Finally, he turns into an Ogre and is sent from the castle. He makes friends and eventually returns to the castle and a happy life. The Lonely Giant describes a giant who has no friends. His size and frown cause people to avoid him and that makes him sad. One day he befriends a Robin and he becomes a friend to all. The people even change his name. Beautiful Girl is the final story. An infant is left on the door stoop of a man in a small village. His church people want to adopt the little girl until they discover that she has no arms or legs. The man is angry that his church people will not adopt her. He raises the girl and she displays her happiness winging to the animals. One day, she helps a stranger and is made whole. She marries and becomes a happy wife and mother. Hans, the man who raised her, lives with the family. Hopefully, this book will cause people to make-up and tell their own stories.
