Wisecracking pen-for-hire Jaine Austen is back--and she's about to discover that working on the set of a Hollywood sitcom is no laughing matter. . . Jaine still hasn't found a good man--or a way to keep all those sugary snacks from going straight to her hips. But--with a little help from her best friend Kandi--she's finally landed a gig as a sitcom writer! True, Muffy 'n Me (aka "Bewitched with Tits") isn't going to win any Emmys. And her office at Miracle Studios needs a little sprucing up, and a few dozen rat traps. But it sure beats writing boring brochures and bad resumes, so Jaine's not complaining. Until the plot thickens--with murder. . . Jaine figures the trouble all started when Muffy 'n Me's hottest star, gorgeous Quinn Kirkland, seduced the head writer--whose husband also works on the show. But when Quinn's caught in bed with the barely-legal actress who plays his niece, things really heat up--and his many jealous girlfriends start to figure things out. . . So when the no-good heartthrob drops dead after nibbling a poisoned doughnut, Jaine isn't terribly surprised. But who could have done it? A competitive co-star and a couple of scorned lovers top Jaine's list of suspects, but the police have zeroed in on her man-crazy pal Kandi. She fell hard for Quinn--and nearly fell apart when she learned of all his other women. Now Jaine has to figure out who finally stopped Quinn's cheatin' heart--before her best friend ends up behind bars. . .

A fallen woman. An opportunity for redemption. But at what cost? Sheffield, 1867. It’s the height of a long-running and violent campaign known as the Outrages, where murderous acts are carried out on behalf of a rogue union leader. Louisa Leigh, a former maid-of-all-work, is trapped into prostitution and desperate for money to escape. She befriends Ginny Hinchcliffe, a young widow who will do whatever it takes to break free from a life of servitude to her in-laws. The two women become entangled with Joe Crookes, henchman to the man responsible for the Outrages. Joe is looking for a way out even if that means betraying those closest to him. With a single act, Louisa’s freedom would be paid for. But it’s not just her life on the line, and she’ll need to decide if she can live with the choices she’s about to make... One way to think of Other Archer is as an expanded occasional poem. Besides gathering the elements of my own story, I hope to encourage readers to see their own life stories in poetry, to leave markers on the trail, ever hopeful to house the energies of our new habitations.

If you have ever wondered what it was like to grow up and work on a cotton farm during the 1950's you need to read this book. It tells about the trials and tribulations of survival while growing up in a large family and only making two dollars each day for working from daylight to dark. While I wasn't ashamed of my roots I wanted a better life for my family. I knew at an early age that education was the key to unlocking many doors and I only completed the fifth grade. After obtaining my (G.E.D) General Education Diploma I went to work as a Patrolman for the Lonoke Police Department in July of 1971. I immediately knew that I had found my niche in life and wanted to make a career out of it. Four months later I applied for and was accepted as a Patrolman for the North Little Rock Police Department. In 1973 I was approached about going to work for the Arkansas State Police and was sworn as a Trooper on October 7, 1973. I was promoted to Sergeant on November 23, 1984 and to Lieutenant on June 17, 1988. For the next six years I was the assistant commander in Troop's B, F, and E. in March of 1995 I transferred to Troop J in Clarksville. A short time later I enrolled in a correspondence course at one of the local Universities and eventually obtained a Bachelors Degree in Criminal Justice. I completed thirty years of service to the state of Arkansas in October of 2003, and retired on April 30, 2004. This book reveals a life of hard work, honesty and integrity. It deals with education, courtship, love, marriage and the death of a child. You will laugh and cry as you read about the antics of growing up in a large family. It is both sad and funny but the message is simple: Put God first, family second, and everything else, well, you know the rest. I have also written a book of poetry entitles "Southern Charm´ and a seventy year history book entitled "Arkansas State Troopers" I believe that you will enjoy reading all of these books.
