Tables and findings are presented on the average nutritive content of food eaten in one day; average quantities and percentage of persons eating specified foods and food groups; contribution of the 12 food groups to the food energy and nutrients in the diet; and percentage of persons using vitamin or mineral supplements. Data are from the nationwide Food Consumption Survey made in 1965-66 by the Consumer and Food Economics Research Division of the Agricultural Research Service, u.s. Department of Agriculture.
