This is the diary of the author as he realizes a life-long dream of riding the fabled Trans-Siberian Express from Moscow across the steppes and taiga of Siberia and into Mongolia, the land of Genghis Khan. In the capital city of Ulan Bator, he is blamed for a fire in his hotel room and is detained by the Mongolian police until payment is arranged. While in the capital, he is flown into the Gobi Desert where he lives in a ger, the home of the nomadic herders. It is a story of exotic people and exotic animals, all of whom contributed to this odyssey.

The Moon in Your Sky: An Immigrant’s Journey Home brings to life the remarkable story of Annah Emuge. Growing up in Uganda under the rule of Idi Amin, Annah and her peers faced hardships few of us can imagine, living with the constant threat of soldiers breaking into their homes, raiding and pillaging as they pleased. Annah found strength in her relationship with her mother, Esther, and in her relationship with God. Esther encouraged Annah to educate herself and “go out into the world.” Annah’s faith led her to James, an evangelical preacher who became her husband. The two left Uganda for the United States when James received a scholarship to study at Ohio University, only to be stranded there with two small children when the Ugandan government collapsed. The loss of his dreams, along with the realities of American life for African immigrants, proved to be more than James could withstand, and he succumbed to alcoholism. How Annah overcame the trials she endured in the land she had thought would hold only promise for her and her family is a riveting story of perseverance that will inspire any reader. Annah’s sorrows give depth to the great joys she experiences as she not only survives but triumphs, working to make both of her countries better places.

It is the 1920s, an age of innovation and daring in transportation both on the road and in the air. At the forefront of motor-car development is Somerville's - to own a Somerville-bodied Rolls-royce is every man's dream. But when George Somerville has an accident that leaves him paralysed, the future of the firm looks uncertain. George has no sons old enough to manage the firm. He does, however, have a wife. Defying general skepticism and her own doubts, Julia gradually takes control, warding off takeover attempts with breathtaking skill and cunning. In Eliot Baring, an American employee and a brilliant airplane engineer, she sees a new future for Somerville's and, perhaps, for herself. Together they take Somerville's into the skies where competition is fierce and enemies common. But the skies darken as fascism spreads across Europe and Julia's conscience becomes ever more important in Somerville's future. Beset on all sides, deserted by her colleagues - and lovers - her future looks bleak until help comes from the most unexpected quarter.
