Since 1995, the Enforcement Program Annual Report has provided information addressing the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission's (NRC or Commission) enforcement activities during a given fiscal year (FY). Last year's Annual Report employed a calendar year (CY) reporting time-frame to align this report with the annual reports of other programs in the Office of Enforcement such as the “Allegation Program Annual Trends Report.”This year's report again provides information about the NRC's enforcement activities for the previous calendar year (i.e., CY 2006), including the escalated enforcement actions that the agency took, civil penalties that the agency imposed, changes that the agency made to the Enforcement Policy, as well as information regarding new initiatives and revised staff guidance that the agency added. Security-related issues involving Notices of Violation, civil penalties, orders, Demands for Information, etc., are not addressed in this report.
