In the twilight of his life, a son examines fragments of his family's moral trek through the played-out century. Historically authentic settings and mores rekindle the past: backwoods Kentucky... a booming young Detroit... anti-German hostility during The Great War... whiskey-running and speakeasies... twists of fortune after The Crash... the Machiavellian inner sanctums of the world's largest industry... the World War II American home front... sea-changes in society and in private lives that accompanied Post-War normalcy. Gradually, the saga coheres on the pathways of its two protagonists: Elgan, a complex, introspective Southern boy whose demons drive him to escape a numbing poverty of the coal fields for a new identity; Grace, the stalwart city girl, paternally orphaned at seven, a realist making the best of a damaged life with irony and industry. The pathways to faith are badly marked and studded with mines. The pilgrim, however brave, is often his own greatest obstacle. Elgan and Grace is one man's witness to what really happened. It is written with passion, literary care, and good humor, for these times and for the generations that come next.

National Theatre Connections 2024 draws together ten new plays for young people to perform, from some of the UK's most exciting and popular playwrights. These are plays for a generation of theatre-makers who want to ask questions, challenge assertions and test the boundaries, and for those who love to invent and imagine a world of possibilities. The plays offer young performers an engaging and diverse range of material to perform, read or study. Touching on themes like trans-rights, the mental health crisis, colonial history, disability activism, and climate change, the collection provides topical, pressing subject matter for students to explore in their performance. This 2024 anthology represents the full set of ten plays offered by the National Theatre 2024 Festival (eight brand-new plays, and two returning favourites), as well as comprehensive workshop notes that give insights and inspiration for building characters, running rehearsals and staging a production.

The DeWitt genealogy is a fascinating study of 26 generations of the family from 1293 to the present. This work is the collaboration of descendants of the three children of Leucas, ninth child of Tierck Clafsen DeWitt. American Ambassador Lester DeWitt Ballor of UEL descent obtained a copy from The Royal Library of the Hague of Beschayving DerStad Dordrecht by Mattys Balen, Jans Zoon published in 1677. This information provided the first thirteen generations in Holland. He also received a 32-page copy of a lawsuit in 1684 by Jan DeWitt on behalf of his brother Tierck for rent owned by Pieter Janz, their sister Faelde's husband. The property was land inherited by Tierck from his father Nicholaas. It provided information on her mother Taetje Cornelisz, her father, brothers and their shipyard.
