Physician in attendance at stated hours at each station. Weekly examination by County Medical Society of the raw milk and the same for milk pasteurized. Reports demonstrate unavoidable millions of bacteria in raw milk and result of pasteurization. which kills all noxious germs without destroying nourishing and digestive qualities. The Health Department testifies that the reduction in the annual death-rate from 96 per thousand in 1891 to 34 in 1916 (last official report). with other agencies and reforms, is due in considerable proportion to introduction of pasteurized milk.
